Just more words. What about that trillion dollar stimulus that was supposed to create jobs? We have now found out only 6% went to infrastructure spending after your Dear Leader promised us shovel ready jobs. We've heard this all before.
it's a 32 min speech. it includes some graphics in case the simple terms are too hard to understand.

about the stimulus:
it created or saved 2.5 million jobs. it was also the biggest tax cut ever. ;)

Obviously, no jobs were created because unemployment went up so that is a lie. The other lie is the 2.5 million jobs that he claims were saved are govt and union jobs. That means they are not jobs that contribute to the tax base or the economy.

Try again.

oh they were created. you just refuse to believe it.

unemployment went up at a slower rate after the stimulus went into effect, and actually began decreasing during the height of it's implementation. the stimulus passed, and like all other legislation that includes over half a billion dollars, it's implementation was gradual yet it's effects were noticeable.

later we found out that the situation was much worse than we first thought, which sucked because that means the stimulus should've been BIGGER, that's why it didn't have the effect barack obama said it would...

look it up. better yet, i'll do it for you. you can see the unemployment rate apex around Jan 2010, and start a trend downward after that...

The President and his cronies laughed at the "shovel ready jobs" and the President admitted there was no such thing. Can't you admit that? We're not that stupid to keep falling for empty promises and cliches. I know you desperately want to believe in Obama, but he is a failure. His approval numbers are going down and that is reality.

Govt jobs are funded by our taxes. They take and do not have a product to sell. Do you understand that?
Regardless of how they are funded to say those jobs (and union jobs) do not contribute to the economy shows a serious lack of understanding on your part.

shovel-ready is a subjective term.

shovel-ready when you're building a single bench should mean shovel ready as in we start today and we're done in 1hour.

when it's talking about building freeways and bridges, it takes more time. maybe if the government actually did the building, not contractors who'll say anything to get the contract, we'd know if there were really any shovel-ready projects out there.

the contractors will always say they're shovel ready, even if they don't own a shovel....

The only way they contribute to the economy is by spending more tax dollars. The lack of understanding is on your part because you don't understand how things work. Govt jobs are paid for by tax money. Do you understand that?

If I have a product, let's say I sell marshmallows. Now when I sell my marshmallows I am generating funds that the govt takes taxes from. Got it?

If I work for the govt, I am generating nothing. I am taking tax money as my pay. I have no product to sell which will generate money for the govt.

Obama is the one who said it and Obama is the one who admitted there aren't any shovel ready jobs. Ya'all really need to let Obama stand or fall on his own and stop propping him up when he stumbles.

I see. So the whole service industry contributes nothing as far as a tax base and contributing to the economy goes. We're not debating whether govt jobs are good or bad, I was responding to your idiotic statement that union and govt jobs contribute nothing to the economy, you are backpedaling.

No, I'm not backpeddling. The stimulus went to the govt unions and banks. That did not "create" jobs. In fact, The administration told us that we had to have the stimulus to keep unemployment under 8%. That was a lie. Unemployment went up to 10% and is now at 9.1%.

My understanding of things is not the problem. The problem is some of you who still support this President will not accept the truth. This President is not qualified for his position. He is a neighborhood organizer and is in over his head and feeding us BS. We need professionals in leadership who know what they are doing and know how to create jobs. The problem is there are a lot of people who will continue to put their head in the sand and demonize people simply because they have an R after their name. That's pretty damn ignorant.

i already explained to you that the situation was worse off than we previously thought

as it turns out economic projections and calculations have error margins of a few percentage points which have HUGE implications on job losses, etc etc etc.

Things are worse because of the policies put in place by this President and the passage of the health care bill which is a disaster for the economy. We can't afford it. It's very simple.

yep, better off letting people go bankrupt, lose their homes, die in the streets, and get kicked off of their plan once they get sick.

that is the better plan for america.
