I was reading a yahoo article about women giving up their last names when they get married. But then I had a thought. How do men feel about their wives taking their last name? Is it important to you? How would you react if she kept her maiden name or made a hyphenated last name?

Alot of women on the article said that they felt like they shouldnt have to, that they were losing themselves if they did, but what do you think?

Lets see 2 took my name 2 did not? Present wanted to change her entire name? Social Security said just the last or go see a judge $1000. So what do you make of it: Depends on the woman and children involved. To each their own: Name. wHERE DID THIS GO WRONG ALONG THE WAY?Get over the fact I type with one hand, caps lck is no big deal. Or is this a server error? Just asking this does not seem to be where I started.

my fiance and i are going to choose a new name that is not at all similar to either of our names. our names don't have historic value and neither of us care for tradition.

no offese but i was just reading through the responses here and ou can tell taht the people who give a shit about this stuff have never been in a real relationship.

name really doesn't matter for shit. it's all societal norms that give you this idea that you have to have the same name and that it is expected. be whatever the fuck you want. i've never cared about my name, i am happy i can find a name that suits me. it will be much better than the name i was born with.
