This might be pretty obvious to some, but bare with me as this is my first time...
I've got a handful of plants under T5's, 6 weeks old, from bag seed. I have this one lady that has pulled ahead of the pack and is showing a lot of hairs. The others don't want to show sex or are being very subtle. I am wondering I may have accidentally initiated flowering in this one plant, as I did change up some lighting recently. (Not in a way that should have red shifted things though.) Or, is it normal to see this kind of hair development in preflower phase? I was expecting just a stray hair here or there that I would have to hunt for, (which is what this one had a week or so ago) but I have three branches showing about this much development:
As I said, I am simply wondering if this is still preflower, because the rest of the plants don't even show sex much if at all. However, I also have no reason to expect them all to develop at the same time because they are a mix of bag seeds and different genetics. Also, this one plant looks noticeably healthier and more advanced than the other others, so maybe I'm just seeing the best genetics.
Should I take a bunch of clones from that one to slow it down while the others develop? Not really set up for clones but I do have some cloning gel so it might be a good time for a learning experience on that. Got some CFLs, I'm sure I could throw together a chamber for them.
This plant is really healthy looking compared to the others. They're all relatively healthy, but this one looks boss. Responded to LSTing really well, very even cola set covers the soil perfectly...
Sorry, getting distracted. Got some Bee Lasso and a new pinch bowl for my little bong. This combo has brought this little beast to new heights!
So should I see that kind of development in preflower normally or did I accidentally set off flowering when I changed lighting up? (I did NOT red-shift as far as I can tell, but did change bulbs from 'normal' grow bulbs to a spectrum-specific setup.) None of the others are showing like that so I figure it's just ahead of the pack and it's normal to see this in preflower??
