Normal to see this much development in preflower?

This might be pretty obvious to some, but bare with me as this is my first time...

I've got a handful of plants under T5's, 6 weeks old, from bag seed. I have this one lady that has pulled ahead of the pack and is showing a lot of hairs. The others don't want to show sex or are being very subtle. I am wondering I may have accidentally initiated flowering in this one plant, as I did change up some lighting recently. (Not in a way that should have red shifted things though.) Or, is it normal to see this kind of hair development in preflower phase? I was expecting just a stray hair here or there that I would have to hunt for, (which is what this one had a week or so ago) but I have three branches showing about this much development:

As I said, I am simply wondering if this is still preflower, because the rest of the plants don't even show sex much if at all. However, I also have no reason to expect them all to develop at the same time because they are a mix of bag seeds and different genetics. Also, this one plant looks noticeably healthier and more advanced than the other others, so maybe I'm just seeing the best genetics.

Should I take a bunch of clones from that one to slow it down while the others develop? Not really set up for clones but I do have some cloning gel so it might be a good time for a learning experience on that. Got some CFLs, I'm sure I could throw together a chamber for them.

This plant is really healthy looking compared to the others. They're all relatively healthy, but this one looks boss. Responded to LSTing really well, very even cola set covers the soil perfectly...

Sorry, getting distracted. :joint: Got some Bee Lasso and a new pinch bowl for my little bong. This combo has brought this little beast to new heights!

So should I see that kind of development in preflower normally or did I accidentally set off flowering when I changed lighting up? (I did NOT red-shift as far as I can tell, but did change bulbs from 'normal' grow bulbs to a spectrum-specific setup.) None of the others are showing like that so I figure it's just ahead of the pack and it's normal to see this in preflower??

Are your lights still on veg time? what cycle are you using? just changing lights wont make a plant flower its all about the time the light are on.

Ya it's definitely flowering, but switching the lights shouldn't have started process. Mine are 1 week flowering and have the same amount of hairs on them. I can really only think of two reasons why it would have started flowering; either your light are on a 12-12 schedule or the seed had auto-flowering genes. At least it's a female!

i was going to say the same thing about possible auto in the gene pool somewhere. not saying it isn't normal, but i've never had that much flower production on a veg cycle. the plant looks good though. if in fact it does have auto in its gene pool it wouldn't be able to be cloned. you could "clone" it, but you could never veg it. maybe the only way to find out whether it really is an auto is to clone it.

Well crap, ahaha.

Okay, well, I have a handful of other plants that are not showing sex yet. Should I bump the cycle to flowering and watch the others like a hawk for sex??

I wish I was set up for flowering and veg simultaneously, but I am not right now... seem to have shot my self in the foot by having only one chamber and using bag seed!

In theory I could throw together a separate flowering area with more money and time invested, but I was really hoping to get away with going all the way through flowering with this light setup.

Should I just shift them all to flower? I was going to grow them bigger, but for a first time, they're developed pretty well and would probably do alright going to flower now.

My biggest worry is that I will miss a male developing amongst the females in flower... just how obvious are the males? I have some that do not show hairs at all but also do not show any distinct ball shapes... sometimes I see unidentifiable growth, but then I look at the macro shots and it looks like tiny leaves developing and still, no orbs.

Since you say its bagseed...you have no idea where it came from...might just be an autoflower...that would completely explain flower production during veg photo period :D

Lights are still on veg time. 20/4.

I had a couple brief power outages, but lighting is definitely not anywhere near 12/12...

Will this plant go back to vegging or do I have to put the chamber into flower now?

if its flowering now is a 20/4 schedule theres no way you could turn it back to veg. its obviously going to flower whether you like it or not.

That makes sense.

Some of them were supposedly pulled from a friend's results from some blueberry seeds... I will ask if they were auto...

I was planning on doing some clones from that healthy one but it's too late now so I may attempt to clone one of the others then pop them all into flower. That way, next time, they'll all be on the same schedule...
