Wiring Question

Sorry if someone with knowledge can answer this for me .. hate to add to all the questions....

I have 20 amp 240 wired in my grow area.. I currently run 2 1000 watt ballast on it . I would like to change a couple things in the room .. maybe going to 600's or adding a 400 ...

MY basic question is .. whats the best way to wire multiple 240 outlets to a 240 line without causing any problems ..

It looks like you have lamps that you cannot use. On some lamps they have a multi-tap transformer so they can be wired for 120/208/240/277 and usually the 480s are not multi tap. The 480v lamps like yours have a 120v dropdown for instant (backup) lighting in the event of a power failure, a 120v halogen lamp inserted into the dome would light while the restrike cycle is in cooldown. This allows light in a warehouses so the workers wont be in complete darkness in the event of a brownout or power interruption. So if you were to apply 480 volts, you could get 120v back from the transformer. I hope this helps.

I got lucky! They do work 120. I received advice on another thread. Could have been one of mine not sure. But I was told to open the ballast and look for a black wire labeled 120. Then unhook the 480 and hook up the 120. Darned if he wasn't right. One little wire almost cause me to junk my lights. That would've set my grow date back big time.

Thank you though that would have helped had I not gotten lucky.

Use the search box in the top right. I seen a thread something about a 240v timer set up DIY for $80. It was nice 4 240 plugs all on a single 15amp breaker done right. I think I marked it. If I find it I'll post it. But if you search $80 DIY 240v timer that should bring it up.

nnow I'm rolling! Double thanks. I felt like a douche when it said learning to roll. Shit I was rolling parties at lunch time in junior high! And I ain't talking fat chicks. Well ok a few of those to but I could roll a fatty while rolling with a fatty. multi-tasker. Lol. really though thanks!

And always remember. Nailing fat chicks is like riding a moved. It's fun as hell until somebody catches you doin it. lol
But fat girls need loving too.

I couldn't have done it without RIU THIS PLACE rocks! I found it a few days ago and have had to turn my phone off at 3am every night since cuz I just can't stop reading all this solid gold advice. My grow was months out until the day a found the site. Now I'd say if I really worked on it I could be buying clones on Monday morning! Amazing!!
