welcome to the human race
From an evolusionists world view, why didn't we evolve like everything else? Like Lions for instance... Why don't we hunt and eat eachother? Were just animals right? How come monkeys don't invent things? They use tools, why don't they learn from us, and build little houses?

not saying YOU are an evolutionist/or not, just in general...

Some believe it's because god made us different with a purpose. Animals can just be chillin' but apparently they can worship too.

read "Chariots of the Gods"

Some believe the human race got a kickstart from another celestial race/being (or "god" for those who don't want to open their mind to scientific facts) The fact that all of the ancient gods started showing up around the same time all across the world and what were they doing? Helping the human race and teaching them skills and ways of life to adapt a more "Human" like culture.

I don't mean to sound like IM bashing religion because I'm not at all

Who's to say we're not just the FIRST to evolve to the degree we have? Perhaps another animal will evolve from monkeys that has the same intelligence/reasoning that we do. Remember that evolution does not say that we used to be monkeys, only that humans and monkeys share a common ancestor. There are innumerable factors that contribute to the evolution of a species, and it is a slow, gradual process.

The idea that one religion is different than another is not such a stupid idea when it comes to evolution. We evolved the intelligence to question our origin. Before we had the technology and science to start answering these questions, we used reason to the best of our ability to come up with answers. The idea of being created fit into the knowledge base, and religion was the result. However, because we had different groups (spanning the globe) that didn't have easy communication, humans came up with variances. The basic concept of creation is the same throughout the world, but the details vary according to our varied cultures.

It's cool. I personally believe in God but I think alot of people are quick to immediately say IT MUST BE GOD!! In this case, I believe so- in others, science offers an answer that sates me. X

we evolved our intelligence... nice... guess were WAY smarter than Aztecs and Romans? Egyptians? Yes were the MOST smartest bestest people yet! I do believe evolution now! I mean after the fall of Rome we couldn't make concrete for 1000 years, and STILL cant make it like them... I guess the technology that is killing our Earth is your interpretation of advancement and "EVOLUTION" at its finest...

I would love to think we were the FIRST to evolve but the universe is like 13.5 billion years old, the earth has only been around for 4.54 billion years and the human race has only been around for 200,000 to 300,000 thousand years. FOr me it's hard to believe we are the first to evolve considering present science has giving some estimates of about 30 billion OTHER planets that can support life just the same as the Earth.

Im not bashing anyone's beliefs because I too believe in a god except my god came from another planet in the universe

I don't think were much smarter than the Egyptians, They had some sort of intellegence that we can't comprehend today such as the pyramids, or even many of the south american early tribes their structures have 90 degree angles and smoother than anything. they made those with hammers and chissels?
I think they made them in a big CNC machine...

Lancelot> you are correct. It is entirely possible that on another planet, beings could very well have evolved to the point we have and beyond. I didn't think it was nescessary to add the statement, "that we know of" to my post. Usually goes without saying.

Smokin> I love it when zealots try to "interpret" what I'm saying so they can twist it into their version of evolution. When you learn what evolution is, c'mon back and try again. I hate to be nasty, but I'm not going to argue with someone about a topic they clearly don't understand. There's a great book you may enjoy. It's called "The Greatest Show on Earth". It explains evolution, as well as dispells the myths religion has created to try and refute it. Give it a read. You may discover that there's books out there that contain facts instead of just 2000 year old compilations full of myth and fear mongering.

I hope you know what a zealot really is... a member of a radical, warlike, ardently patriotic group of Jews in Judea, particularly prominent from a.d. 69 to 81, advocating the violent overthrow of Roman rule and vigorously resisting the efforts of the Romans and their supporters to heathenize the Jews.

Im not sure how your using it but this is the original definition.

....which just proves you have little to no understanding of what evolution actually is.
you are right, I have not devoted my life to fully understanding something that is the most retarded shit for a human to believe in. But its cool you understand it :) I bet your mom is proud of you.
