nice buds. + rep. i am also a soil grower indoors. i also use 3 gallon pots. what lights, nutes, soil etc. do you use and have found to be the most effective? what strain is that? looks very kushy.
hi.. thanks for the visit, I use 1000w, metal halide veg. HPS for flower, the soil is so important, those babies will be in those pots for months... My best mix that just rocks is, take 2 bags of Fox Farm Ocean Forest organic mix and one bag of Botnicares Ready Grow aeration formula (soiless hydro) will fill about 10 3gallon containers. Almost impossible to over water. Without the aeration formula your dealing with mud buckets, soil will stay spongy and roots love it.. Total Fox Farm system, Big Grow, Tiger Bloom, Big Bloom, Open Sesame, Beastie Bloom and Cha Ching, use mainly as directed on paper sheet not bottles... Strain "Amnesia Haze" more sativa but do fill in nicely, breeder royal queen seeds. Wish you the best how's it going??

I like that you are a soil grower but damn for those plants to be that far along....shouldn't you have more trichromes? It might just be me but mine seem to look 10x more frosty then those little nuggets. :) not sure if you ever had English class, but my teachers always told me to proof read.......just a thought so you don't look so stupid. Anyways let me find some pictures of a TRUE soil grow. :weed:
That grow was Amnesia Haze, strong sativa leaning strain, not as frosty as more indica dominate strains I have grown. I have a room now going with 8 girls.. 5 skunk 1 (flying dutchman) 1 LA Confidential (DNA) 1 Connie Chung (DNA) and another Amnesia Haze.. I now am in week 5 and am so excited, will post in about another 3/4 weeks when they get closer to D-Day... When I smoke (always high) I tend to get ahead of myself abit and fielding some these posts by very angry people (for some reason) I get hasty with my responses. Like to hear about your current adventure...

i grow very similar to you. i use ffof mixed with botanicare coco as well, but i like to add in a bit more perlite for added drainage. i also used to use the fox farm line up but now i only use the solubles. i use gh as a base (lucas formula) for flower and botanicare pure blend as a base in veg. i stoppped using the tiger bloom because i found that it swung the ph too much and did not remain stable. i also stopped using the big bloom because it is pretty much watered down worm poop with some sand in it. i found that it would only change my ppms 150-200 ppm when used at full strength in flower. waste of money imo. i also stopped using the ff bases because i did not like having to flush so much during the plants whole life and when you use the chart which they provide you get a salt buildup really fast. how long do you veg for in three gallons? do you grow all from seed or clone? do you use any of the bush doctor products? i have used them with indecisive results. but then again when you have to use so much ph up with the ff bases and flush every 4 weeks because of salt buildup, i could not imagine a microherd being too healthy.

So your on a circulating system (ppm) .. I go through alot of trouble to cart "Paseo Water Store" water and is all I use, the local guys a total guru about water and he has a filter room that puts out the sweetest tasting and great H2o for MJ.. never have had any issues.
After transplant I'll take em up to about 14" which usually takes place in 2 weeks after transplanat.. Grow from seed mainly, no bush doctor products used..

it would be hard to recirculate soil runoff. i use a tds meter (ppm) to help me measure nutrient levels in my solution. i find this to be more accurate then just using a chart. i also use ro water from the machines. i always use the glacier machines. they always test at about 15-25 ppm and they are cheaper than most water stores. how long do you veg from seed before you flower? do you top or lst at all? sog/scrog?

interesting where's the salts coming from? ... from seed to flower? 6weeks, however I do grow multi stains and often adjust slightly, I do not top, may bend, tie.. 7x7 area I most like a larger 6 in the room, have had as many as 12 (ouch) here's some pics at transplant and at beginning of flower..

i always found salt build up when i was feeding at full strength on the chart. showed as early yellowing during weeks 4-5 in flower. nice looking plants. are they all fem seeds? do you clone at all? i dont have that many seeds so i like to take cuts of the same pheno. i ahev two flowering chambers where i run one strain at a time in each. tried perpetual, canopy management was a pain. i am thinking about growing from seed from now on. increased vigor and usually bigger yeilds, but increased veg time and inconsistency and i found more stretching from seed.

Huh ? I use drip clean in my recirculating drip. It;s to get rid of salt build up.

I used to not top too and always bend.. Fishing weights and strings.

thats some of the great things i have heard about H&G. virtually no salt build up.
None you use their product "drip clean" with every res change i literally have no salt build up none, not even on my hoses. GH nutes fuhhhget about it! Salt build up galore.

hi.. yes all ladies, just have the one room so I like to transplant from cups to buckets at harvest time.... I've have an inventory of seeds and like new stuff, just received 6 OG Kush fem seeds from DNA. Should start em in the cups next Monday, transplant in 30.. leaving a little room for harvest.. so seeds are for me...

It's completely understandable my friend. A lot of trolls but no need to act like them when you have good meds :) anyways, let me start off by saying I too am a soil grower only I grow 100% ORGANIC. Instead of FFOF I go with some Roots Organic with added vermiculite. I use vermiculite instead because my microbial colony I build up in veg seem to actually stick to perlite ( under a microscope). I also mix in numerous amounts of organic soluables like worm castings, blood meal, bone meal, mycorrhizae and a few others. I let my soil usually sit outside in a sealed container for about a month. Once switched to 12/12 I use Iguana Juice ONLY! I will add some GO cal/mag, molasses and some humic acid. Right before I flush I usually use a little hygrozyme to use all of the other unprocessed nutrients. That is my grow in a nutshell. I try to keep it as basic as possible.

For training, I LST and every now and then, I'll do a plant with some super cropping. I veg for a minimum of 4 weeks but sometimes will let them go a little longer ( depending on the strain) I also have been trying a new method of training tht I haven't seen many others do if any. Once I perfect it and actually have some solid proof of how it works, then I will release that technique. Anyways, I have Pot of Gold, Kushberry, LA Con, Purple Kush, Williams Wonder, and Golden Pineapple going right now. Depending on which room we use, we have either 7 gallon pots or 4.25 gallons. 2 rooms with 4 1000w HPS and my personal room with only 2 1000w HPS. sorry for rambling ha ha but that is it. I'll have an update here in a couple days. Happy growing :weed: + rep to soil growers

hi... thanks for the great post... I am so interested... your organics and room descriptions are admirable, looking very much forward to seeing it soon. Training method something different, please do introduce when ready. 5 gallon pots are a dream size for me.. I recently had 2 BOYS mixed in with my last LA Fem seeds from DNA. only ended up with 1, disappointing, any pics of the LA would be appreciated. Eagerly awaiting future posts how exciting ...
