It would take an idiot to take "wife beating" from those scriptures. Anything could be taken out of context but if they read the entire chapters they have no excuse. You could take a couple of scriptures out of context to real extremes: "And Judas went and hanged himself" (Mt 27:5) and "Go, and do thou likewise" (Lk. 10:37).

Yet throughout Christian history they have been used to justify physical assault and even maiming. Just as bigotry and atrocities against Jews were justified with biblical scripture. I bet you didn't even visit the Christian forum that advocates beating your wife as part of Christian morality.

you agreed with winterwomans post where she implied the big bad Muslims were coming to get us, I pointed out how religion divides people, and both of you prove that point. Your religion makes you afraid of these people. Those with no religion telling them how to think or act are free to think and act how they want and judge all people individually based on the content of their character and consequences of thier actions, not by what they may or may not believe.

The Christian "leadership" says 'be afraid of the brown Muslims!' and like magic the forgiving and accepting nature of your religion truly comes out.

If she is the victim of incest, so fucking what. If her life is in danger, tough luck. Not to mention that in vitro fertilization will be against the law. Birth control methods would be outlawed as well. Or how about the abortion and anti-gay laws being implemented throughout the country?
