Well I got the supplies for my first Ebb & Flow and hopefully my first finished grow.
Had bug problems with my soil setup. Been reading a lot of Al B Fuct's threads and I feel I've learned enough to start my own hydro.
I will be using a 3x3 tray hugger with a 40 gal botanicare res.
A two outlet air pump with two micro-pore XL (10") air stones and the water will be fed thru a 250GPH pump.
The seeds are from Attitude and they are mostly sativas, not the ideal type for a hydro, but I bought these planning on doing them in soil. I'll just flower them at about a foot.
Eventually i'm going to turn this into a duel tent ebb & flow and follow Al B Fuct's harvest every 2 weeks thread except make it harvest every month.
I'm in the process of trying to find a supply for 50% technical grade h2o2, my hydro store only sells 30% and will be using 1ml/L every 3-4 days.
Topping up everyday with plain water with Bi-weekly res dumps.
I will be using 6" net pots with hydroton around a 2x2 piece of rockwool.
Going to start off in rockwool soaked in SuperThrive until about a week once roots stick out the bottom. After that I will be feeding with phosphorus nutes only at around 400 PPM to aid root growth and then will be kicking it up to 1100 PPM after they've established a nice root system and I move them to the tray.
I heard from the guy at the hydro store hydroton has a strong 7.0 natural PH and he suggested I use a soiless medium like promix or grow rocks.
I've heard not so great things about grow rocks.
But If I go the hydroton/rockwool way I will be flooding every hour for 15 minutes. If grow rocks i'm going to have to flood more often. If soilless i'm flood only a few times a day.
I will be "flushing" 2 weeks before harvest.
Anything you can think of to add would be greatly appreciated as I'm a newbie. I read a lot when I can, so be as detailed as you want to be. I love learning.
