You were right about this. I did rinse my hydroton very thoroughly, but I used hot tap water from the bathtub. I did this 3 times in total letting the waterfarm run about a week between each rinse with non PH'd tap water. I think this might be where I went wrong in that I didn't adjust the PH down as I let the waterfarm run to rinse the hydroton. Oh well too late now hopefully it will start to level out here soon. How far along is your grow now AWnox?Sounds like your temps are on point friend. Anything from 70 - 85 degrees is good IMO.
About the pH; I'm assuming you didn't pre-rinse the hydroton with pH'ed water hu? If you didn't then that's why the pH is raising even after you lower it, it's the hydroton. The hydroton if not rinsed thoroughly also raises your ppm as well as your pH a bit so keep that in mind. What I did before I even placed her in there was rinse the hydroton with regular water and a hose until all the loose sediment that came with it was gone (as much as you can get rid of) then I set up the Waterfarm and filled it up with pH'ed water and let it run for about a week before I even had the seeds. This helped out tremendously but even so I still had a tiny raise in ppm and pH once the nutrients and the seedling were added (very very slight though).
In any case don't worry too much about your pH right now, if it's at 7 it's fine for now. After you reach a certain amount of nutrients in your reservoir most nutrients tend to "buffer" the pH rather well and it will actually go to where it needs to be on it's own. This happen for me when I hit about 900-1000 ppm nutrient solution of FloraNova Bloom (one part).
And my 2 cents regarding that foil on top of the Waterfarm; I know that some growers here use it but I don't. Reason for me is because to me it seems that the tin foil will act as a heating agent to the hydroton and your reservoir. Think about it, all that heat emanating from the light and it hits the tin foil, it WILL heat up whats under neath for sure so if you have a problem keeping your temps low I really suggest you don't place the foil unless you really see some problems like algae or something like that, otherwise I'd say don't do it, I didn't it and never had any problems. Also I believe this restricts air flow in the Waterfarm itself, the more oxygen your roots get the better she will grow and the more yield she will give.
Hope it helps friend, keep us posted.
Your grow looks really good, super healthy with nice fat leaves. Thanks for stopping checking in on my grow.Looks good. I have WF grow going now there's a link in my sig.
She's almost 2 weeks into flowering. Total days: 41 . She was placed in the Waterfarm October 1st. The transition and stretch period is nearly over as I see her not stretching or growing vertically at all at this point so next phase is full bloom. She has white hairs all over her, really starting to become a woman Ah they grow up so fast don't they? I'm growing Kalashnikova from GH. She is a BUSH to say the least, branching profusely and stretching almost 2.5x the first week of flowering, should be a good yield. I didn't top, fimm or SCROG her this time around, just let her do her own thing pretty much as this is my first time with this strain. Still she has over 10 tops or bud sites so she didn't really need any of that mess. Truly a very impressive strain I may add and a perfect fit for the WF. Hopefully I'll be able to post up some pics soon. You were right about this. I did rinse my hydroton very thoroughly, but I used hot tap water from the bathtub. Sounds like things have been going great for you. I wish I was at your stage and able to smell the buds as they swell up over the next few weeks. When I tried my first grow with bagseed, I used like 50 seeds and not a single one turned out female. So I'm really looking forward to finally seeing some white hairs. Ah man they are really multiplying now, almost every shoot has white hairs now and starting to bundle up in the nodes, the next few weeks in deed will be interesting to say the least. I got 5 Kalashnikova and just picked the one that looked best and here we are. I've read that the Kalashnikova has herm tendencies but this one for me is turning out to be exceptional man. Can't wait for her to start smelling more; she smells a bit but in a week or two she'll really start to stink. I'll definitely keep you posted on the pics friend.Sounds like things have been going great for you. I wish I was at your stage and able to smell the buds as they swell up over the next few weeks. Everything looks good man. Now it's just a waiting game...
Good to hear it looks like things are going well. I added a little bit of nutrients last night. About a 1/2ml micro and a 1/2 ml bloom. Not much, it seems to have bumped up a little in size. I'm going to change the rez completely sometime next week and I will prob start it out on 1/4 strength nutes. Will it be to soon to start @ 1/4 strength nutes next week? What do you think?Looks good man. The growth will be stunning in a few days. My roots just made it to the lower level, a couple are already in the bucket. What I've noticed is that most of the growth initially will be taking place at the root system, but don't despair, the upper part will follow suit
I think it's too soon to go on nutes. Let her go like that for the first couple of weeks, then try feeding her some. Mine reacted a bit when I fed her into her second week.
Okay Sounds like I'm getting to antsy. I'll hold off on the nutes for a bit and just change out the rez with PH'd water next week. Thanks forgetiwashere for the tip with the 3 part. I'm going to use the Lucas formula with only the micro and bloom. I don't if that makes a diff or not in the strength compared with the novabloom.I would wait a little. I got ancy and added nutes early and ended up with nute burn. And when u do start adding start really low like 200 ppm because that 3 part gh stuff is really strong it will burn your plants easier than the nova bloom. So if u see someone with nova bloom was adding 300 ppm at a certain stage when u get to that stage u should be aiming at 200 ppm with the 3 part formula. This is just my opinion bit I just recently learned the hardway
Looking green mdhsas!Time for an update. So today I changed out the reservoir with fresh PH'd tap water to 5.9-6.0 PH. The PPM's were sitting at 106 after adjusting the PH. My temperature in the tent is sitting around 71-73 F, but my guess is it's a bit warmer under the light where the seedling is, probably 74-75 degrees F. The relative humidity within the tent is 48%. Here's some pictures of the progress so far. Cheers

Looking green mdhsas!
Awesome thanks!Looks nice mate
Thank you for the info I'll remember this as I start to introduce the nutrients in a week or so. Glad to see you here for the ride.Yeah even without the grow just take it easy. Its absorbed quicker and easier than nova bloom I think so can do more damage. In growing 2 seedlings side by side one with the 3part and one with nova bloom fed them both 400 ppm but the 3 part stuff burnt and the nova didnt. Rookie error. Subbed by the way
the exact same thing is happening in mineBe careful of ph fluctuations if you have any, it might be causing droopy leaves (or not, still researching to find out what's been happening in mine)
