well my shed smells when its been closed all day with the cab venting into the room..... does the room you have your closet in have a window... because i think you'll be ok if you dont let the smell build up

yeah they will keep showing leaves and the buds will develop between and around them ... some strains have better leaf-bud ratio ... more leaves in the bud only means more trimming when the time comes... it doesnt mean its crap bud .... its just genetics

Also, for your smell problem, look into buying some 'activated carbon'. You can buy it from aquariums or general fish shops. It's the stuff you put in your fish tank filter to clean the water and remove toxins etc... it also removes smells ;)

If you create a pouch with some tights and place it in your exhaust, it should remove a lot of your smell.

@Trout - those heads in your avatar are looking lush :)

^^^ carbon filters are nice but not everyone has a fan powerful enough. Instead, i'd suggest looking into a standard hepa/ionizer air purifier. You can place it near the exhaust and it will clean most of the air. I can hardly smell my plants even if i put my face right into them... the day before i bought the purifier if you opened the room to my door (not the cab) it WREAKED of dank... within a day that problem was fixed. I have my air purifier place right in front of the exhaust so little air escaped without being filtered.

I like your idea ginger, and super happy that it works for you.. but I'd have to argue;
As long as the carbon isn't packed in too tightly, you won't really need a fan any bigger than what's being used already. Maybe just a little more power than usual... and the cost has got to be a huge difference...

And must be a fiver for the tights... never bought them so don't know hahaha! I'm gonna use some of the wifes when my time comes to use them.

It's all just preference, I had a lil carbon filter (it was an actual air filter, not activated carbon) but it cut down my airflow too much and my temps went to high 80s low 90s so i got rid of it. In the end, an air purifier will run around 30-50, the homemade carbon filter will be around the same if you include a fan strong enough (im just thinking of the standard 4" inline booster - about $27 here). In the end it's just preference, i chose the air filter because i was crammed on space and it will work in just about any set up (if i get a bigger grow area i'll just throw it into the grow room itself; did i mention it also has an ozone generator? :D)

ooh ozone sounds nice :) My mate has one in his tent and it is truly the bomb, but it don't rid the smell at all. His house STINKS! lol

Agree it's all preference. For me it's all about the low budget and using bits from around the house. I have to admit, I haven't actually tried the activated carbon route yet, but from my research it's the way to go and I hadn't actually considered that I may need a bigger fan for it so thanks for that bud.

Just try and find the larger sized active carbon pellets, not the tiny pebble sized, it would be sooo hard for a fan to pull through that. Ive already tried with a vortex, and that mother f'er was working double time, it was a little odd...

some guys with small cabinets and stealth grows use those (onablocks) i think they are called?? its a smelly jelly in a tub thingie .... place it near your exhaust and it mingles in and makes your room smell like those blocks in the blokes toilets ..... public loo smell... or HELLO MR DANKS HERE smell... what worse? ... but they are cheap and i see guys using them

i don't really need to worry too much about smells atm... but if it gets too much i will be looking for cheap and effective

oh and i saw some guy had made a filter thing from a construction site type face mask filter... said it cut the smell down massive (but its hard to work out whos telling porkys on the internet)

Nice dude, yeah man, im going to make a shitload of fem seeds from whatever plant I want, probably just going to stick with with auto seed breeding for now
