Hello all, Happy Thanksgiving if you are reading this today!
I feel as though my plant is not growing as fast as it should, but i'm not sure. So here are some pics if you guys could give me some advice I would greatly appreciate it.
This plant is very sentimental to me. It was my cousins who passed away in a car accident a month ago and I really want to do all that I can to make it grow beautifully :)
I created a grow system for indoors. It is a pot with aluminum foil covering the inside, with 2 vents coming out of it. One blowing air in and one blowing air out. There is a florescent light inside. I have a Metal Halide light, but I have yet to buy a socket for it. I've had the plant since October 28. The first pic is from that date and the other pics are its growing stage until today.

Thank you for anyone that helps me out. :joint:

I'm not really sure what type of soil it is. My cousin had it in this pot when I got it. Anyway I can figure it out?

it doesn't look too bad to me the stem is very dark for such a small little plant, is that bark on the top? or just the poor soil its been put in. if it is bark for a start get it off when bark decompses it leach nitrogen from the soil. how often are you watering it? also looks like you feed nutes aswell? which are abit too heavy for it.

whats the temp in your bucket and and how do you keep it regulated?

one last thing it looks very stretched

looks bit like that peat moss stuff u got the plant in? im thinking its in to high a nute soil? if month or so old its defo stunted. mine at 3wks is 3 times the size. as its a former family member and u wont wanna rid off it i wood wait till soil mostly dry then i wood flush the shit out it to wash some the nutes out soil but then if the pot is alot deeper then roots then uucould get root rot as bottom pot wont dry out. but if not over deep pot i wood give it a go. if u careful handed could u not repot in diff soil or coco?> one which u no nutes wont fry roots??? good luck man and soz to hear bout ya cousin. peace

Okay I took the bark out and I'm waiting for the plant to be pretty dry so I can rinse the soil with water. I'll try and find the temp. in the bucket too.

best way to find out what kind of soil it is is to taste it, if its salty its top soil, if its sweet its some type of manure
I don't know if i should believe you, but when me and my brother read your post we just cracked the fuck up haha :bigjoint:

best thing do is always let the soil dry out so roots can get air and maybe a repott mate whilst it young but add more drainage and use hydrotons if you can mixed in the soil roots will get air then aswell pal..just a idea mate

So I baught http://www.scotts.com/smg/products/Miracle-Gro/soil/in_container/pdf/mgOrganicChoicePottingMix.pdf for the soil mix and i added pertile in it, also i put it in a new pot. Should this help my problem?
depends on you my friend the soil will help, you just need to let her grow with not too much water but alot of love :)

how much light do you have on it? i see only one light fitting on your bucket. what bulb is it and how far away is it? also did you found out what your temps are?

haha oh i give her love! she's my baby :) I have it on 18/6 light cycle and there is just a florescent bulb in there. I have a metal halide light bulb, but i'm waiting for the socket to be delivered. The bulb is about 9-10 inches away. Do you think i should set it up so both bulbs are in there? Oh and it is 75.2 degrees F.

Thank again.

Miracle-Gro Potting Mix? the kind with added nutrients? You have a chance but "less than even" imo. Seedlings are easy to overfeed ... and nute burn can look like what your plant is showing. if it greens up, then all is good. if it continues to yellow, you most likely have overfert issues, which are very hard on a baby plant.
Don't water until you really have to, is my advice. cn

yes it has a chance, can you get any decent soil and transplant it? i did the exact same thing. i used scotts as well. looked just like your baby. i transplanted into premium pro-mix soil, was hard to find around here but i have stuck with it since then. like cannabineer said try to hold off on watering it as the nutes are released when you water.
baby in bad soil pic then her as a grown woman about ready to be chopped, hang in there, you can do it :peace:

looks alot better. did you get your new light yet? you could water a little. see how light the pot is? thats what we go by. the mrs always think they need water, she kills them with love LOL, but if they are not light weight then i don't water them. i try to let them dry out at least 3 days or so.
are you trying to be stealthy? is that why you have it in a bucket? just wondering because it doesn't have to be in the total dark during the veg stage :peace:
