I ordered the socket for the light bulb, but I got shipped this weird looking thing I have to send back haha. Today I'm gonna go down to the electrical shop and buy the socket and ballast. I'm not trying to be stealthy, but the bucket is covered in aluminum on the inside with a flourescent bulb inside. It's pretty bright. I keep it in there when the sun isn't out. When it's sunny in the mornign I usually put it on the windowsill. The light cycle is usually between 17/7 - 20/4. I'll keep the watering to a minimun haha I do tend to over love it with water :)
Thanks for the help.

I have to disagree with that unless you like eating shit...that is a sure way to get ECOLI or some other enteric infection not to mention a hundred other possible parasite infections tape worm flat worms round worms not a good idea to suggest anybody put soil of any type anyway near your face...all experienced Gardner's know this and hopefully protect both themselves and their crops and finished product by using proper hygiene methods...I think a much better method is using your NOSE which affords you protection and picks up molecules in the parts per billion range for some substances ...if you are a dirt eater that is a seperate issue that needs you to get a check-up from the neck-up - BEE SAFE WHEN HANDLING ANY PRODUCT THAT HAS HAD ANY KIND OF FERTILIZER ADDED TO IT!--we want you to be around a while to enjoy your growing days!! PS many types of SILIACTES which what we use to grow with are inplicated in causing stomach and colon cancer..my ex wife who grew with me for many years died of that this year yaneverno but it always better to be safe then dead---you dont want to actually be in the situation where you have to use weed becasue of chemo therphy -- aint no fun..I know PEACE OUT!
best way to find out what kind of soil it is is to taste it, if its salty its top soil, if its sweet its some type of manure

Thank you, but there is no way I would even think about trasting dirt haha even if it was suggested :) thank you for your input though

i hear ya on the sun light but i don't think it's getting enough light that way. i live in s fla and use lights, i have outdoor plants finishing but thats different. your little one needs light :-) you really may wanna consider leaving it in the artificial light for 20/4 if you can. i sure don't have alot of experience but i have researched a ton and i do 20/4 while vegging then right to 12/12. seems to be working really well for us. i love using mother nature and the sun but it needs more light then whats out there this time of year :peace:

hey man, dont transplant that thing again, someone above mentioned it and i think that has alot to do with it being a little messed up. the plant actually looked BETTER before you transplanted it the first time. you probally put it into shock as the roots werent interwoven with the soil enough and probally caused root damage when you moved it.

as for watering it, poke your finger right down into the soil a couple inches. if that soil is still moist then the plant is fine and dosent need to be watered really. remember with the pre fertilized soil everytime you water you release more nutes. more water = more nutes released so when you do water again just give it maybe 1 cup of plain water (for now) when the plant gets bigger and can handle the nutes in the soil you will want to water untill you get a little runoff as this will help prevent aginst buildup.

please tell us what kind of light you have in that bucket. 1 bulb is fine if its the proper spectrum but some of those CFL's come in spectrums that provide little to no plant growth. what wattage? what color temp (will be a number in the 1000's range with a K after it i.e 2700k i think is the lowest one they make and they go up to 6500k)

if it is a low wattage CFL you want it closer than 8" but i dont want to tell you to move it closer till i know what kind of bulb it is.

nute burn sucks, im dealing with it myself because of the same reason, pre fertilized soil and too much water. i watered mine 7 days ago and got the burn havent watered again since and wont untill tomorow night, i might even try a flush but im trying to get more info on it before i go ahead and do it.

sorry to hear about your cousin man, i wish ya the best of luck with this plant.

Here is an update. I think it is doing a lot better... I accidently burnt some of the edges of the plant because the light was way to close for way to long of time, but I fixed it since then.

Anything else i can do guys to help it out?

yea i agree with peeps on here, looks like ur growing medium is wack. switch up immediately. let it grow with water first. It looks like your feeding a newborn baby some Sprite. water then throw in nutes after gaining a solid base of veg

looks good man, not sure why everyone is hating on your soil but i personally think it looks fine. your plant seems to be growing in it just fine.

if it aint broke dont fix it and if that plant is growing then there is nothing wrong with the soil your using

Looks like it's doing good now. I'd say it was not getting enough light or was over-watered initially. It was definitely stunted but now looks very healthy.

we are happy for you :eyesmoke:
they smell so good, the mrs doesn't smoke but she loves the way they smell, veg and flower. i would let her dry and then transplant her anytime. it does make it much easier if you do it when the soil is dry. and i think when it's transplanted it loves that first big drink that much more :peace:

I think you have a little way before you need to repot it. As sunnyboy said, let it dry out a bit, you can always check the roots out then by gently removing it from the pot. Take a pic and peeps will let you know. Or if the roots are circling a lot then it's time to repot. By cirling I mean creating like a ring of roots around the bottom of the pot. Also check the weight of your pot when its dry, and then you know when you need to water, i.e when its back to be that weight. Anything else, let the roots looks for the water in the soil, it makes them stronger, rather than having a totally heavy pot all the time which creates the effect of actually smothering roots.
Plants will survive in incredibly small placed but then you just need to water them more often. But when it goes into flower you want the roots to have space to grow so ensure you have it potted up before then. And don't be afraid to repot during flower either if you underestimate its vigour.

Good luck, looks like you have a green thumb!

Peace, DST
