Let's talk serious SCROG

ok another question 28 days into flower.....so far only fed FloraNova bloom 3tsp/gal now. Is there some thing else they absolutely need at this stage

Flora nova has everything the plant "needs" to flower but if you want a bit more yield "Tiger bloom" from fox farm works great to bulk up buds.

To answer your other question, the damage hasn't really reached the buds, so far the fan leaves are just getting pwnd. If the degradation gets to the flowers I will most likely just chop it all down and dry it, try for bubble hash or something. There really aren't many trichomes to speak of so that may be a wasted effort.

aaaahh, that's what I was getting at.....so until there are major trichomes it's worthless. But those are some big buds to have to trash (if it becomes necessary)
 
dont panic. trichomes don't really start to develop until week 5 or 6 and then really glisten up until weeks 7 and 8

you can see them on the leaves by week 5-6 though
 
Start of week 7 flower.

  • Branches in the middle of the canopy were all topped roughly a week ago, hence why they don't have pointy tops like the sides branches and instead are a lot fatter!

  • 25W UVB light added about 4 days ago so now running .... 875W

  • I'm giving her another 4 weeks roughly to really plump up

Trying not to panic too much, I am doing what I can to salvage the grow (trimming dead matter and watching res).

Everything has stabilized, buds are still unaffected.

Trichomes are visible on leaves and flowers but they are minimal, I'm going to limp the plant along a few more weeks if I can and see where we are at.

One of my vegging plants is having a similar issue now, considerably less severe than the flowering one but dropping and some root decay.

I'm starting to suspect a combination of foreign contaminant and ph issues. I work in a lab and can sometimes still have residues on my hands even after several washings, I fed both the flowering plant and the vegging plant from the same 5 gallon mixing bucket, there is a chance I contaminated the water before I split it up and added nutrient. That would be an absolute failure on my part.
 
bummer. you want to hear a better fuck up story? Last grow...week three of flower..miixed up a big batch of mite rid in my back pack sprayer. Apparantly I didn't wash it out well enough...poisoned my plants and they started all these weird genetic mutations..massive blown up stems, nodes the size of golf balls. Tore it all down in week 5. Utter failure.
 
lilindian does that uvb light make a noticable difference with the production of thc? i read a post about it and just wanted to know if it was worth it?

legally i think bumping up the nutes did help i havent noticed any new spots anyway
 
Glad to hear bumping up helped. It's always nice to be on the low side of ppm and then raise it up when problems arise. Waaaay easier then the other way around.
 
Hi everyone...I am starting my first indoor grow and am looking at a 400w hps/mh with a grow tent that is 2'x4'x5' high. Is this tall enough to do a scrog, and is the rectangular shape ok for one light? I know most of them are 78" tall but my attic has a low ceiling. Thanks for you help, love this thread!
 
Yeah that is fine. 2 feet is really really small but it does get done. Just backwards calculate the height of your screen.

Tent height 60", - heightof your hood 16"?, - ideal distance above plants for a AC 400 12", - final plant height above screen 12-18". So your screen should be about 20" off the floor. Depending on the height of your pot, it's going to get real tight in there and your not going to be able to veg for long. I would say 2 plants tops...same strain.
 
Awesome...thank you! My other option is to get a 4x4 tent and 600w and put it in a separate building outside of my house (no nearby neighbors)...just deciding if it's better to start small and not have a big electric bill while I'm learning, or just spend the money on a good setup!

Well, for whatever its worth, I'm a big fan of going all out and doing it right the first time. It does however come down to money. If you don't have 3k or so to throw down on a system.. then I would start small. You have to think about your climate. It is the most important and the most overlooked (jesus I think I have typed that sentence a 100 fucking times already). So Unless you have an insulated outbuilding with appropriate power lines going to it, just go small for now in a bedroom or something.

Here is a good tip.. Don't buy a tent. Go buy a handfull of 2x2's and home depot and a roll of panda film at the grow store... an hour and $50 later you have a grow tent..any size you want.
 
here are my day 29 pics.....thinking another 30-40 days ? Also might have messed up, my cuttings are really flowering so afraid to transplant though I think roots need room Can see all my latest pics in my journal (in sig).....please have a look and feedback will be greatly appreciated .

Only been on for a few days so can't say anything yet. Give it a couple more weeks and i'll get back to u on that one
