First plants, few pics and questions relating (:

I've noticed ppl here aren't big on throwing out yields. Especially this early into flowering. It's really a hard thing to judge so ppl are reluctant.

Keep the thread going man. I'll be following along. Any pics of the LST? I think it will help you out significantly in the end.

I don't think the trichomes on the leaves are a bad sign. If anything it's a good sign that your strain is a high resin producer.

Personally, I like flouros for starting seedlings and vegging plants for a few weeks, but I'd suggest upgrading for your next grow. Either with a HPS or even CFL's if money is an issue. I'd actually recommend putting some CFL's in there now. Flouros aren't really known for producing huge amounts of bud. Also, for next time I'd suggest filling whatever container you are using with soil all the way to the top.

I have a few CFL's, but i'm not sure how to mount them. My setup is nothing impressive by far, when I made it I was going for obscurity. The CFL's i have are 6500's, im not sure the wattage or anything off the top of my head. As for the LST, the results dont appear to be noticeable. The box it's in is pretty crowded, so im pulling all the branches in one set way to extend only the left half of the plant. I figured that way i'd get at least better bud at the bottom on one side since i couldn't really do the other.

Since i just finished moving them around it would be a good time to post pics, ill update ^.^

Also, those buckets are really deep. They are 35pd cat litter buckets ^.^

The first plant pictured is really weak, it's bearly holding itself up and the bottom of the stem is browning. Should i put a stick in there to hold it up or would that somehow encourage stem growth?

The fourth pic on there shows where i was trying to grow those bottom ones out, the three strings are removed atm though. They dont appear to be growing out any, so i also tied the top of the plant pulling in the opposite direction.

oh, and heres one i missed x:

yea the brown hairs they stay white first two weeks and slowly turn brown the closer the plant gets to being done with flower

Does that mean i have to harvest them, or i can continue letting them grow for more yield?

edit;
Actually now that i think about it, that plant's hairs were brown when they were growing, the other two grew out white.

Updateee.

The small plant was in shock (roots -.-) so didnt grow for a few days. I gave up on LST for the other plant, i think im okay with letting it grow as-is. Neither plants have any nutes yet except some miracle grow. Finally got some ph scales and have been using the proper ph'd water now, xD

I dont have any kind of magnifying glass): so lame. Why would i have to take the top off though? This being my first time i dont really understand what happens when the bud is overmatured

ok lets start over the only way you would cut the top is if it was ready and the rest was not some times there are parts of the plant that will finsh before others in that case just chop that part and leave the rest to ripen :}

in some of those pics, it really looks like you have plants of different levels of maturity. they all came off the same mother and were all flowered at the same time for sure? i've heard the best, sure fire method for judging when it's time to harvest is by looking at the trichomes under mag. if not, you're going to have to go by the hairs turning from white to red/brown. at around 80% she should be ripe. it looks like you're removing the tin foil and putting up mylar or emergency blankets maybe? good call. get rid of the rest of it. are you monitoring the temps/humidity? how are you getting airflow? nothing wrong with the leaves gettin frosty, that's a good thing! you can use them to make some hash or edibles! great lookin grow btw. gonna have some dank! :weed:
