Maybe Drone's monitoring us, tazing us, and shooting at us is not such a good idea?

Most people don't care about shit like this. I mean, how many times have police killed innocent people, even children? And nothing ever changes. Sure, people get mad and talk about it for a week, maybe two. But then back to the same old shit. Until they (police) have you at gunpoint, nobody will care.

Paranoid? Sure, I have good reason to be.

Unless I'm missing something here, the recoil of a 12 ga or an M-79 would knock that thing from the air.

ok guys. You're right. This isn't a cop who bought a toy helicopter from the mall. This is the police state taking over the country with dangerous drones.

From what I hear you can render yourself invisible to these drones if you wear a tin foil hat.

I'm not fearmongering but you have no clue what you're talking about here. It is most definitely possible to equip weapons on that thing. It's obviously not capable of carrying a TOW missile but it's definitely possible to put weapons on that thing. I'm not saying they are GOING to put weapons on them or that they HAVE put weapons on them, I'm simply saying it IS possible. I've seen prototypes of the weapons specifically designed for systems like this. They do exist although they are still largely in the experimental stages. We are venturing into dangerous territory here and if it doesn't concern you then move on to another thread. These types of things DO concern some of us and with good reason. All this said, I don't believe they are putting rocket launchers or Gatling guns on these things anytime soon. If they wanted to do that they could simply put weapons on the manned helicopters that are already flying around.

IMO they bought the toy helicopter for $100, another $6k for the camera, then the cops took the other $293,900 to Vegas where they spent it on coke and whores.

I'm sorry but this is NOT some top sekret drone. I saw the EXACT model for sale at the mall for $100. It's not similar, it's exactly the same. The only difference is the paint job. Is that a $290k paint job?
Riiiiiiiiiiiight!!!!!!!!!!:roll::dunce:

No it wouldn't. Contrary to your belief of how a helicopter works, a heli does not need any forward momentum to fly, they can fly backwards just as well as they fly forwards, they fly sideways just as well also. Its not like an airplane that needs forward momentum to keep lift applied to the wings, the helicopter has a rotor wing so unless you do something to decrease lift, well sorry the heli isn't going to fall out of the sky.

Myth Busted.

Yeah and apparently the NYPD have Stinger missiles too...wondering how to cut your budget deficit? I'd start by not letting cops order whatever toys they want.

Exactly the point, No where does it say they have equipped weapons on them, it just says they are designed for it and they could, in multiple quotes from the links provided in the original post.

EDIT: Apparently I also underlined and bolded the fact that they don't currently carry weapons lol, I knew this thread would have these sort of responses.

What exactly happens if you shoot it down? Damaging police property or worse? Cos there is 50cal legal places, one round from the likes of a Barret and it's a $300,000 pile of wreckage.

From the Looks of it
You wont need a 50 probably a shot gun maybe even a slingshot

And who knows
They might claim its a police officer like they do dogs
If you hit a police dog even if its chewing your ass up its assault on a police officer

You need Million dollar drones and $250,000 of bail money to make sure those 6 cows belong to who they say they belong to. I bet Sheriff Andy Taylor would have handled things a bit differently. Law Enforcement of today will spend any amount of tax payer monies to secure a arrest that will net the state a giant LOSS in the pocketbook.

I hope the people of Nelson County, North Dakota vote for a better sheriff next time.

ND, if you are so against the drones, then why did you work for companies helping to make them?

You are against them, yet you are not so attached to your principals when the almighty dollar (it is the dollar, right? you have never answered whether or not you are American) comes into play?
