Government Regulation

Freedom of speech or no, false advertisement should be banned and also the bullshit advertisement and political crap taken out of context with the sole intent to mislead... aka blatant lies on the air.

There is a huge difference between bullshiting for the sake of bullshit and blatant lies selling something or somebody.

I agree but for the most part ( I recall some french fry commercials that were false) Mcdonalds doesn't lie.

I hope you are aware that false advertising is illegal and a company can be sued for doing it.

Yes false advertisement is illegal, and done all the time. Or do you not pay attention to actual wording made to give a false representation of something or in politics, somebody?

Intentional wordplay to show something out of context = false = a lie

What does pot have to do with this? Is pot making this country fat? I don't see that. Is there a widespread campaign to get our children to smoke pot? I don't see that either. Do you have kids? Do you really think you can keep your kids from eating hamburgers? I notice no one, including you is addressing my post on what Mcdonald's abiding intent is - to get people to eat hamburgers - do you really believe that everyone is immune to 800 million dollars in "convincing" every year?

ok here goes, causation without correlation....The reason kids are fat is because of too much government regulation. Have you noticed that the more laws we create the fatter kids get?

Doctors do not need permits. I think you are confused over what constitutes a permit and a license.

BTW the harm was caused by injecting too much of a drug, not the absence of a permit.
the difference is mostly semantics. both are similar enough that the most common synonym for license is...... PERMIT. what constitutes... lolololololol

a person cannot practice medicine without a permit. in order to practice you need a medical license. that means you are capable of diagnosing....

ask conrad murray what he'll do after he's out of jail with his medical license revoked. it won't be practicing medicine, not in the US at least....

For Example: when you go to the chiropractor if you really read it says what you are getting is akin to a massage, not a medical procedure.

get it??

They are different my friend, A license can be assigned to someone else, a permit cannot. Licenses can be sold by private individuals and companies, Permits are Government regulation functions. You r neighbor can't give you a permit, only a government functionary can, and usually only after an inspection.

A permit at a restaurant says that the place has been inspected and is clean and sanitary, but it has SHIT to do with whether or not the chef knows how to cook.

Well that chick was operating without a license, permit or common sense.

She didnt have a license and she didnt have a permit to perform medical operations inside her kitchen.

So 1 incident and you want laws, taxes, a bureau made just to protect one stupid guy? Someone will die from a car accident by the time i finish this sentence. Your efforts would be much better utilized trying to make driving illegal. You could save 45,000 times as many people! Think of all the good you will do.

What things are illegal? Injections? Doctors? patients? which one of those is illegal? Maybe Kitchens are illegal?

It could only be semantics if you don't understand the difference.

Notice I did not say advertising should be banned, and I have not said that hamburgers, fat, sugar or salt should be banned either. It is one thing to notify you that McRib is back (all you have to do is look at any Mcdonalds - they all have banners stating that fact), it is another to bombard you and your children day in and day out in every venue possible that you must come in and get a happy meal.
Dude, turn off your TV, it is turning your mind to mush. You do have that choice. You won't miss it at all, believe me.

Injecting a guy with silicone in his dick when you are not a licensed doctor and operating out of your house which is not a permitted work space for the operation.

Unless you live in Alabama...

Oh sure i agree there are laws that say you need a license and the facility in which you work needs a permit, but being a doctor or a patient or injecting silicone are not illegal activities. Marijuana is Illegal, but it is not regulated. ie, there are no permits one can get, no one inspects the product and ensures correct weight and quality assurance. yet this plant is the biggest cash crop in the nation and how many people have died from it? how many?

Correlation is not causation, we agree, but there is ample evidence AND, not a one of you has managed to address the logic I provided. Many, including some here cling to the dilusion that they actually have totaly free choice and that their actions are free from influence. It is much more comfortable living in a world where we believe we are free than knowing that indeed there is a war going on for our minds and bodies. I actually think folks are ashamed. I did some research on this recently and encountered a whole lot of animosity when anyone asked "how many hamburgers do Americans eat each year" - why i wonder?

us-fao.gif
It isn't TV, it isn't that we excercise less (although that contributes) - it is because WE EAT MORE. And we eat more and more and more. Are we getting hungrier?

I'll say it again, a number of huge, multinational corporations spend billions with one intent - to get us to eat more hamburgers. Their campaign is working.
