Do you have a picture of this "slime"? I'd gander its nothing harmful to your plants but likely one of those additives of some sort............ Either way, just stick with the g/m/b nutrients, h2o2, and cal-mag and you'll be plenty fine.......... Add all the other stuff later if you think you still need em'...........

Man....I've dealt with this same situation all week....its definately ur nutes....my plants did the same thing so I drained and refilled res.....ran straight water for a week then added main parts of nutes at 1/4 strenghwaited a couple days then added all my additives(1/4) and the babies are lookin great and the growth is back on track....start ur nutes off small and end strong wit them.....hope this helps a lil

Wait, what do you do with h2o2? I don't have any of that, where can I get it from? I didn't use calmag this time because I think I had an abundance of it and that's why the leaves look shtity in the OP. On my veg ones I went with 10ml(into my bucket that is like 4 gallons water) cal mag because I used RO water, though.

Too much additives through off the ratios making defficiencies and over ferts all at the same time. Think of it as kung fu...it doesnt have to be the most powerful punch if its well timed and placed. All it takes is the right shot at the right time, not a whirlwind assault of everything you got. All those additives are usefull, they all have a place and time, you just gotta find put when and how much. For now, cut back to a 3 part plus cal mag and it should help it recover. I dont grow your style, im soilless so I cant give you any specific info about your system, only a little "the kung fu of weed growing" talk. Good luck pal

It prevents root rot, breaks down dead biological leftovers, and keeps your system clean. It is a REQUIREMENT to use on Ebb & Flow Systems. You can also use airstones for the same effect, but it's only partially helpful.

I was using 5ml per gallon of Calmag, so 20ml on all 15 of them and I think that was why they look like crap now. The slime I have no idea and I'm hoping I don't go in tomorrow and find more slime RAWR.

I put 3 of them in bud so I have the other 12 back in veg for a few days hopefully they will start growing again. I think my veg ones will look fine, all I did was clean everything real good and put in a small dosage of nutes and just a little bit of calmag, like 10-15mL.

So I just dump the h2o2 solution in with all the nutes or whenever I want or what? I should get this tomorrow.

I want to start using CO2 but I will have to enclose my room and all that jazz.

I'm wrestling with how to do CO2 myself now as well.......... We'll have our thread updated between now and spring with what we're doing with it. We know the rules of CO2 just not sure technically how we want to apply it to the actual grow rooms............ I wouldnt worry about co2 until later, really..... Make sure you get everything else dialed in right and understood first..........

With the H2O2, just like nutrients, goes right in the reservoir. Since its liquid oxygen, it'll evaporate over 3-5 days, that's why we add it twice a week.

My guess is Iron toxicity from the high PH, as Typhoon said. It would explain the sludge. Hydro should really be below 6, as a rule of thumb. High pH reduces Fe availability while acid increase Fe availability. The high pH effect is increased in hydroponic systems. One factor in this effect is the presence of high carbonates in the solution, which also plays a role in waterlogged roots and in the root rhizosphere where other nutrients can not be assimilated =)

I could be wrong.

Im haveing a very similar situation. Roots r a bit slimy n my leafs r fuked!! Brown spots, super dry n dying. I havent had much luck with help n im a some what noob. But im starting to think root lock may b a possobility. I to was using botanicare with liquid karma. How old r ur nutes ?? Old nutes cause root lock.

Old nutrients dont "cause root lock", but certainly nutrients do have a shelf life. If they are slimy or gooey or stinky like eggs coming out of the nutrient jugs, discard them and get a new jug.

I was thinking more of just sitting in the room and smoking bong rips all day to increase the CO2.

I heard of way to get a little more CO2 running through the room.. Hang vinegar around a room and poke a little hole so it drips a little bit every now and then, have it drop onto a cup of bakin soda and it causes CO2 I guess. Works only with small rooms, though. My rooms are a little big

I don't think my shitty looking plants had any correlation to my slime problem I was having. What I did was clean out the buckets and cleaned the roots off real good and dumped 25ml grow, 20ml micro, and 15ml bloom of the humbolt and I can already notice good new growth and the plants are looking better. Hopefully I didn't have to add any CALMAG but I will find out in the coming week. Trying to flip the switch on 12/12 soon as possible.

Also remember when you take plants out of a pot and wash roots off and re-pot them in the hydroton, that the plants WILL BE STRESSED for a week. They will look a little weak and limber till they re-settle. Its normal, dont sweat it. Just forgot to mention it.............. (Its called transplant stress)

Yeah, it's hard to not though. I always keep thinking there is still something wrong so I want to wash everything out and try something else. Hopefully I can let them sit for a week, they're almost 5 weeks old already. I wanted them on 12/12 last week but oh well, shit happens. Hopefully they will come back good. I've already washed the roots twice and cleaned each bucket about 4 times this week.. argh
