Marijuana - Gateway drug or myth?
Drugs: A man-made and/or organic substance used to change &/or alter the way the users body &/or mind functions or feels.
In that statement, was it made aware that a drug is an illegal man-made &/or organic substance?
I don't believe so.
Therefore, many drugs exist in today's society, legal & illegal alike.
Gateway Drugs: A habit-forming drug that is not addictive but it's use may lead to the use of other addictive drugs.
In that statement, was it made aware that the drug in question is not addictive?
I believe so.
(Remember this for later)
So with those two definitions in order, we can begin to narrow down the list of drugs, in order to find our gateway drug.
Now, we can go threw a list of hundreds an thousands and even millions of drugs.
Technically, Big Mac's can be considered drugs, considering they are man-made, used to change the way the body feels.
How do they change the bodies feeling? From hungry to full of course.
...& since Big Mac's are not addictive, they count.
A question that easily fools politicians & law makers alike is, "If marijuana is addictive, how is it a gateway drug, if gateway drugs are not addictive?"
I'm certain you won't get a clear-cut answer, because... there simply isn't a clear-cut answer to a hypocritical situation.
So based off these key facts of knowing what drugs & gateway drugs are, any 2nd grader can put it together, marijuana cannot be a gateway drug.
Now, we all know politicians can be sneaky with there way or wording, so they might slip out of that question.
So here's what we ask in return...
Alcohol is definitely a organic/man-made, mind &/or body altering substance, even though legal, still considered a drug.
Depending on who you ask, it could be or cannot be addictive.
Average age a person tries alcohol? 11 years old.
Tobacco is definitely a organic/man-made, mind &/or body altering substance, even though legal, still considered a drug.
Depending on who you ask, it could be or cannot be addictive.
Average age a person tries smoking? 13 years old.
Marijuana is definitely a organic, mind &/or body altering substance, even though illegal, still considered a drug.
Depending on who you ask, it could be or cannot be addictive.
Average age a person starts smoking marijuana? 14 years old.
That list was compiled within minutes, so you can't tell me the smartest people in the world can't figure this out.
No matter what way you look at it, marijuana cannot be a gateway drug.
It doesn't even top out at #1 on the list of currently used drugs.
MYTH. Surprisingly, Alcohol would be the gateway drug.
