As a little aside, does anyone here genuinely think the US could defeat Russia and China at the same time? No offense, but if you couldn't win outright in Iraq and Afghanistan, what makes you think you could beat the largest standing army in the world AND their red friends?

China has zero ability to project military power to North America. Russia has very little. The US has the only blue water (global) navy in the world.
If Obama hadn't wanted to go through with this, he never should have said he would. This just reinforces what we deep down know about Obama - all hat and no cattle.

Well, they would either have to cross the ocean or make a drive through alaska, canada and into the USA.
They would likely target Hawaii and all of the pacific islands.
However, just like Normandy it would take a massive effort.
Most wars are fought over resources. Russia has massive amounts of untapped resources. I dont see them actually having a land war in America any time soon.

You're refusing reality because it was printed somewhere you don't like? Or you just going to deny Sizzler exists and the first hour of war all our ships are destroyed? Iran also has Sizzler which China gave it. Russia has them too since it developed them. The cold war is over and the USSR fell, but Russia is still a major threat with many formerly USSR weapons and WMD materials in the hands of rogue nations and terrorists. Sizzler is just one of the many threats. Russia also has better tanks. The only advantage Americans have is training and the insane amount of money it spends, which can soon change.

he's imposing crippling economic sanctions... the latest of which will make it nearly impossible for any country to legally pay for Iranian oil...

You realise over 65% of your countries armed forces and nearly all operational hardware is abroad right now? How long do you think it would take to recall all that shit?
Also see China has started construction of its Carrier fleet? They supposedly have designs for around 5 ships of equal size to the Nimitz class.
Again, no offense at all guys, but if you can't beat guys with AK47s and RPGs who live in a desert, how could you possibly beat the Russians AND the Chinese?

Firstly, I agree with you.
That being said: The Russians government failed because they couldn't win in Afghanistan. There also is no winner in gorilla warfare unless the citizens are all killed, but even then the term winner probably be reluctantly awarded.
The Russians are really not a worry for the U.S. The Chinese are a different story, however. The United States, despite how desperately it's citizens want to believe otherwise, are not the sole super power in the world anymore.
