Hey all! First build and first post...
So be understanding please... :)

CASE:
Basically I have a rosewill redbone case. Its dementions are about 19long 16high and 7 1/4 wide. I am lining it with thick cardboard and covering that with space blankets for the reflectivity. So far I have the back wall an the side panel that I've been taking off covered but the sides are already cut out and have holes for the light traps(still unsure what I'm going to do.)
LIGHTS/POWER:
I'm running three 23watt 2700k cfls on it thru a powerstrip mounted on the back wall.
AIRFLOW:
It came with two 120mm fans in it so I'm using those fore the exhaust and intake.
The fans are wired to an adapter I got at frys electronics for around 8 bucks.
LIGHT TRAP: (still unsure what I'm going to do.)
As of now I have 4 inch plastic drains that fit over the fans, a pvc 4 inch to 2 inch connector(idk what its really called) that I had to wrap in ducktape so it fit snuggly in the back of the drain cover, then a 2 inch PVC 90 degree elbow. To that I can connect a straight 2 inch pipe cut to lenght. My only issue with this system is how much room is taken up. Id say at lease one third to half of the space would not be usable for pots because of how far the traps extend.
On second thought I think I mught use the lower front fan as an exhaust and use the pvc light trap for that one and use the box type on the other intake?

Any input is gladly taken!

PS: I also included a pic of the carbon filter I plan on using too. I'm thinkin cap the echaust with it then fill the tube with some dryer sheets? And sorry for the bad pic of the box.2012-01-13_16-31-46_322.jpg2012-01-13_16-31-20_778.jpg2012-01-13_16-30-45_613.jpg2012-01-13_16-30-27_778.jpg2012-01-07_21-19-13_29.jpg

i would take the power strip out and run wires out of the cab. for a couple reasons.

1) humidity. plants love humidity in veg stage and the high humidity may cause a issue.
2) space, yours is limited so any unecessary items in the box will cut your space down alot.

you can buy these plastic bulb sockets at the home depot for like $1.19 each they would work good as they are pretty low profile and you can mount them to the top of the cab to conserves some space.

hmm oops sorry didnt see where you said thats what will be running your lights, i assume you have those lightbulb sockets that plug into the wall?

Yeah I thought about that but I suck at wiring things(idk how I managed the fans!) But I see what your saying... ill have to look into the wiring of it. But if I leave it, worst case the box wouldn't start a fire or anything would it?

But yeah I do. I liked them because they are about 50 times easier to set up haha

do a passive intake on the bottom and exasut with both fans, with the passive intake you can drill holes in the floor and just set the case up on something to allow air to come in through the bottom, this will eliminate the need for a light trap for intake as no light will come in from the bottom of your box as long as its in a decent location. then for the exause just run the light trap on the outside of the box going down to your filter.

hope this helps :)

oh and go gra a small lenght og pvc and a elbow will work better i think to keep it from sticking out the back so far

That's funny you say that actually. The case has a open bottow for this purpos!! And I kinda figured I might need to go to the outside of the case but wanted to stick to the stealth portion of the build :/ so ill probably do a bit more work after work(mans work is never done :( at least the build is fun!)

Update!
Been busy but not on the build :(
So far I've gotten all the panneling done besides the mesh on the side. Just gotta get some black construction paper for that.
Also have to do the second light trap with tape I'm assuming. First one is on the box tho.pretty much everything is good to go now. Just gotta test the temps and see how she's doing!
Also the last pic should be of the bottom of the case. That's my passive intake, both fans are exhaust now.
Any ideas how to keep this open are welcome as to any modifications for future builds as this is something I've started doing for patients in az.

ok so what if....... you got another PC case and a couple hinges and linked 2 together, then it would be like a PC case book

only way i can think of to keep it open and still be stealth is to maybe put something over it otherwise you lose your stealthyness leaving it open

build looks great tho a lil rep headed your way :)

I meant the bottom, I'm just going to find a way to stand it up on some blocks or something. But I just gotta flip one of the fans around and we are good to go :)

Yes I'm doing one myself but only because the fans I got don't seem to push a lot of air since I added the carbon filter and light traps so I'm using them both for outtake. But if its better idk. I like the negative pressure thought to odor control tho so passive intake seems better to me!

So I tested the case and after an hour of running it was at 104 degrees. So I took off the carbon fiber mesh off the exhaust and am going to see how it goes. If it won't keep the temp down idk how I'm going to get this to work lol new fans I assume

2 120mm fan should be enough, thats odd, I would say try using 2 as outake and get another for intake.
