agreedy?,,,,,,i mean really wats the point?
they already get plenty of money when you go out and buy everyday products,
most of our countries infrastructure, is in China
and i dont even watch the Olympics lol
That would hurt us some as well. It's not the same thing, that's economic trade.. like their regular income from us to them... don't make me explain economics to everyone, that'll take all day.
but they're planning to use the olympics as a huge boost to their corrupt economy, and corrupt government. they invested billions into buildings and structure, that they want us to pay for by visiting them during the olympics.
If no one shows up, they lose! and they will have to burden their own cost, which can lead to the eventual fall of their economy.
what do you have against china?Just want to make sure the message gets around the web...
Don't support chinese olympics!
Don't Attend and they will lose all the money they invested in the olympics!
AS THEY DESERVE!
I hope everyone on RIU is doing their part to make sure China doesn't get one cent from you!
Yeah no shit...its a bunch of professional athletes competing to see who is the best in the world. The Olympics are supposed to be above politics...Dude
It is incredibly relevant....We attended the olympics held by the NAZI ruled Berlin!!!!Good post but in my opinion wrong point. Like a few replies said they will get money/trade anyway, but I think it should be boycotted simply because it endorses how they treat people & for me more importantly it shows that the importance of corperate sponsorship is WAY more important than human rights or freedom.
It is also a damning mark of the american & english goverments to say its ok to abuse & torture people in china (because they have the BOMB!!!!) but we can kick Iraq's ass and its worth the oil, so lets fuckin roll!!
Plus we can just tell loads of lies about Iraq & fuck it, even if we're found to be lying, WHo's gonna do anything about it??
No One is WHo!!!

During the 1936 summer Olympics, there were many different views on whether the games should be allowed or discontinued. The people who voiced their opinions on the debate included Americans Avery Brundage, Ernest Lee Jahncke, and Judge Jeremiah Mahoney. The United States considered boycotting the Olympic games, since participating in the festivity might be considered as support for the Nazi Germany regime and its Anti-Semitic policies. However, others argued that the Olympic Games should not be a reflection of political views but strictly a contest of the greatest athletes.
