ummm who said it was for a profit...????I think it is hilarious that people think that only the government can run a letter delivery service at a profit.
I think it is hilarious that people think the post office SHOULD be run at a profit.I think it is hilarious that people think that only the government can run a letter delivery service at a profit.
Not for a profit, at a profit. Until recently the post office MADE money... It ran at a surplus.ummm who said it was for a profit...????
when private business takes anything over prices always go up, never downNot for a profit, at a profit. Until recently the post office MADE money... It ran at a surplus.
Again, I find it hilarious that people dont think something like the post office could be run more efficiently by private business.
What if the price of postage could drop back to 30 cents per letter? Would you still be against it?
How dare you mention facts around here !!!!! Anyone who disagree with this "Mr.Fact" bringer just do what you do best and ignore him...Facts are not welcomed in the RIU political sectionOne of the biggest reasons that the USPS is in financial trouble is thanks to Congress. The USPS is required to do something that no other entity or corporation has to do: fully fund its retirement account for like 75 years. Nobody does that. Sure they need to have a healthy account (many entities and corps do not) but it's ridiculous to fully fund it that far out. This is a fairly new requirement imposed by Congress.
They don't give it away. The usps could stop the bleeding by not giving away all the boxes and rolls of tape and shit.
They don't give it away.
They sell tape, sharpies, boxes, even the envelopes have to be bought. None are ever laying out free.
At least in Colorado, California, and Texas...
No,No sorry you are wrong.
They give away all the priority boxes you could want, envelopes and priority tape are all for free.
Ship 10 packages 1st class, and you get free access to the VIP loungeThey could start offering lap dances while your waiting in line- they could put out a couple chairs and play some music for the VIP's
No,
You are wrong.
The USPS sells ALL their shit, at least in those three states
I'm not guessing,
Speaking from experience
Private delivery services cost way more than the post office to get a letter from here to there. Not for a profit, at a profit. Until recently the post office MADE money... It ran at a surplus.

So you don't ever ever ever ever ever go into a USPS store, how the fuck should you know ANYTHING about them???Lets see,i sell vintage comics and ship usps every day and i am the one that is wrong....
They deliver these supplies every month for free.....
No again i know it is you who are wrong...
You do know you do not know everything contrary to what you belive.....
A real delivery service every morning with your mail.Maybe they could call you each morning to ask if you want them to pick up anything on the way to your house with your mail, if you want a pack of cigarettes or fifth of Whiskey or a bagel they could pick it up and charge you double- I think they could become profitable quickly if they did this
