Hey can someone tell me why?

Why do I have 2 different colored green rep bars? Is the dark one true reps and the other likes? Curiosity is killing me.

I think it's like a meter,when they all turn dark you'll be on full.

I noticed soon after starting here that only the first 5 reps were dark green. I suspect vBulletin software has a feature for two different kinds of rep, but this site isn't so configured.

That, or it's a magnesium deficiency and you gotta flush your Rep with molasses for like two weeks or it'll taste like chems and be crackly an' shit. cn

Everyone has 5 dark bars and the rest are light (for those with full rep) I checked the one person who would have lot's of rep...
And FDD's rep bars look the same.

(edit- looks like a bunch of people beat me to it when i was writing the post, lol.
for some odd reason the bars actually all only get filled to a certain point and then the rest are never shaded in. i think the cut off is 5 full ones(and when i see my post in this thread i should know for sure as i know mine is maxed out. im pretty sure you two both are at the max fill level too. you are talking about those little squares under our names, right? if not i think ive misunderstood. lol. i was disappointed when i first read that they only fill to a certain point myself. i wish i could remember more of the thread i saw on it.

weird. when i first started coming here the rep bars were all the same color of solid green. then the big 4/20 update happened in '10 and the second half of the rep bar was shaded. maybe to make it look like it's fading out or something. now the rep bars are all green again but the ones that used to be gray are a lighter green. i have no idea what the point is supposed to be.

maybe because the ones that are lightest (latest) took more rep points to get another square than the first ones did. i really don't know but as you can see i've given it a great deal of thought

you know what gets me though? how sometimes random words in a post will be links. i know marijuana turns into a link that takes you to the home page, but there are other words that do this (i can't remember any right now). if i stare at the screen long enough i'll think that regular words look dark blue like links and i'll hover my mouse over a bunch of words to see if i'm crazy...

i always am apparently...
