Give the doctor a worthy reason.
It helps to have that doctor know you for a while ... you want him/her to be confident you don't want them just as an intoxicant.

Tell the Doc you suffering from anxiety, just by talking to him. He'll prevail with the notion. Do you suffer from Social Anxiety?

Then. You follow with an abrupt, "Yes, Doctor. Is that what you call it when you feel uptight and suffocated when in a big crowd?"

Turn the pages in his mind. And he'll believe you.

Besides that... way to dupe... the Medical Society! :lol:

You convince them you have serious anxiety problem or you get panic attacks. Panic attacks are harder sell to the dr, but are more likely to get you Xanax specifically and at a higher starting dose, but you'll get fewer pills per month and if you keep going through like 10 pills a month your dr will get suspicious. An anxiety problem probably won't get a benzo right off the bat, you'll probably be given Buspar or an SSRI first and have to fail on one or two things before the doc will consider a benzo usually. It's a gradual process, and you have to carefully work the dr in the direction of giving you a benzo. And usually for anxiety Xanax is not the first benzo to be RXed. You're much more likely to get Valium or Klonopin first. And you wouldn't get bars right off even if you do get Xanax. You're lucky to get the 1mg ones as a starting dose, 0.5mg is much more common. Hell bars aren't normally the starting dose for panic attacks.
I can't stress enough how careful you need to be if you have a benzo Rx, benzo dependency sucks, the withdrawals are worse and THEY CAN KILL YOU!

Be judicious, "treat" yourself to a day of xanax lala land every friday or better yet every monday and don't ever depend upon them for anything including absolute intoxication and you will never have to worry about the bite but (Fish, I am talking over your shoulder - if you are warning someone about xanax they you surely have already been bitten and know what you are talking about) bite you they will and it is none too pleasant. I have heard people who would know claim that benzo withdrawal is tougher than opiat withdrawal - and longer as well.
 
I've had several periods where I've been on HIGH doses of opioids for pain or pleasure and I've kicked benzos (and both at the same time. That's just suck and fucking awful) and opioids are so much easier. I handle opioid withdrawal extremely well, but a six month five brick a week habit ain't nothing to sneeze at. But its still a walk in the park compared to even minor benzo withdrawal. And it's over in a week, while benzo withdrawal is only getting started then.
 
I've never had to withdraw from benzos, but opioids? First time was oxydone ... 200 mg down to chilled poultry. That was acute for a week and done in two.
Methadone, now ... despite much lower doses it was acute for a MONTH and still tailin' in month three. Aiee. cn

not what i really wanted to hear cn, as i'm trying to withdrawal myself from methadone atm.. i was at 40 mg / day, which is a pretty low dose to start and i'm coming down 1mg / week.. i'm not sure where i'm at now, but i'm some where in the low 30's, trying not to really pay too much attention and get stressed out over it...
so far it's been easy as poo, but i hear that once you get below about 20 mg's or so, it starts to get a lil tougher.. hopefully it will be a mostly head game and i won't have too much trouble getting off, i've been on them 11 years come this may...
 
Yeah ... i went from 30 mg to shivering holiday dinner. I was a bit overconfident after kicking the oxydone. I was continuously awake for four days. That did rather suck.
But once you're past, oh, day twenty ... it's all downhill.
One of the weirder effects of coming off was sudden, intense and sustained hair loss. I still have my ponytail, but it's noticeably thinner. :cuss: cn

man, that's crazy stuff, guess i'm lucky i'm balding to begin with, lol.. i'm not overly confident, in fact, i'm scared shitless, i just think it's time and i have not used heroin since i've been on meth..

Racerboy methadone withdrawal can be an absolute bitch towards the end. See if you can switch to bupe or better yet something like MSContin (the Endo ones are great for this, they're crap for abuse so they're usually really cheap and you can't really fuck your taper either). Staying on the done when you get to the end is the second worst thing you can do in that circumstance. Done is a wonderful, life saving drug for so many people but it is one of the worst kicks out there. I had a friend who felt like crap even doing an ultra slow taper over like 18-24 months. She's pretty sensitive to wd though.
I wish methadone wasn't so sedating for me. I tried it for a week for pain and I was almost completely pain free on a very low dose (like 30mg, I'm not pain free on 60mg OxyContin QID and 8mg Dilaudid also QID) but it was SOOOO SEDATING I was falling asleep in the middle of the day on 200mg of Provigil!
 
as someone whos been sent to multiple rehabs for abusing everything except meth crack and coke. i was at my psychiatrist and told him (after already having a 30 1mg klonopin script a month) that i was having panic attacks at work and described how i felt uncomfortable and people noticed... i did feel that way but it was cuz i was constantly on legal uppers. but he didnt know. anyway i told him i couldnt function at work. he added an additionl 45 1 mg kpins a month to take as needed. knowing a little chem knowledge just non cholantly tell him you need something more fast acting. but from people who did get bars they described their symptoms as "having a heart attack"they will start you at a ow dose but just keep going back saying its not working.

theyll gradualy up the dose. itll take time but youll get there.

getting the meds you want is a waiting game.
 
danger my dear friend! im doing swell! lifes been distracting and keping me from this home away from home. im on the up and up which is a nice change of pace. :) but the monotony of the daily grind has given me the itch once more, which explains my recent return.

the call of rc's and people in the know around my neighborhood are becoming too much to ignore. its time to delve and discover all of lifes secrets once more. ;)

hows the game of life been on your side of the world?
