I have 1 cigarette left in my pack...

And it will be the last one I smoke for the rest of my life. Many cigarette relapses behind me, but I have a good feeling about it this time.
Does anyone here have any quit stories?

Wish me luck.

>.< I need to lay off MJ for a while.. though just the thought of not smoking.. annoys me.
I'm going to have to bump up my weed smoking for a few weeks, whenever I'm high I don't crave cigarettes at all.
Gotta stay high while my body gets used to not having nicotine.

I quit cigs 2 years ago but tremendously increased the amount of bud I smoke, it was a nice trade off.:bigjoint:

^^^^ same here, but I hit 7 years next month and I was a 2 pack a day smoker. The guys at 7/11 wonder what happened to me, I used to see them daily, now I have no reason to go there.

I can't wait to be done with these disgusting things, gotta get out now while I'm still young.

So many people I know in their 40s 50s and 60s that all smoked and about 80% that smoked have emphysema and need oxygen.

once you stop thinking about them, your golden, and the money you save is amazing. you smell better, both with your nose and your clothes. Although I haven't smoked in 7 years, those second hand smoke commercials still piss me off, Like some kid is gonna die from someone smoking in an apartment 2 doors away, they show it going thru the a/c vent system which is total bullshit and just can't happen.

And it's always like a thick cloud of smoke too.

If the smoke really traveled like that through the vents, the people in the apartments surrounding mine would be getting high as fuck.

I wish you the best of luck. I have tried to quit smoking on numerous occasions over the years, its very hard for me, it has became a lifestyle habit. Nicotine is one of the most addictive substances known to mankind. Ive had a lot of friends quit smoking, it did not work out as well when they quit cold turkey. They slowly started cutting back, down to a couple smokes a day, smoke half smokes and what not. Some of them switched over to smoking cigars on occasion, to help with those really bad cravings at times. There is also such things as water vapor cigarettes. They are truly amazing, Completely natural and healthy, its like a plastic cigarette that you put flavored cartridges into, Your only inhaling flavored water vapor, but its all completely natural. The cigarette does not actually burn, just lights up red on the end to appear as a real smoke, They are rechargeable and come in all kinds of kits. They could really help to quit smoking. One last thing I suggest is to stay busy, keep your mind thinking of things other then cigarettes. Substitute a joint every time you want a cigarette, hope that helps, happy toking. :bigjoint:

Ha, i was almost the exact opposite. I quite smoking tobacco and as such my cannabis consumption dropped to near zero, was just rather boring and not worth the effort of inhaling it :D BAck on em again though, keep telling myself i won't buy myself another paket of tobacco, 15 minutes into watching a film and i think sod that, i fancy a cigarette and a beer. Doh :D

can you still smoke in a pub? I imagine smoking isn't as socially unacceptable over there as it has become in the U.S. Which would also make it harder to quit. I personally used a patch for a couple weeks.

I stop smoking 15 a day about a year ago. So I just smoke weed all day instead. My throat is better now and I don't cough in the mornings anymore. I'm less cranky too.

Nah, it' pretty much the same situation as you guys. Either outside the front door or in the beer garden if they have one, although due to the ban, it meant that pubs jut bought a shit ton of big tv's and patio heaters and stuck em outside, so i tend to just spark up a nice joint and let strangers buy me drinks for a few tokes

When trying to quit, run away from any smoke, run awaaaay, i work in a kitchen situated in a basement underneath the pavement, whenever someone i sat around outside smoking, the smoke wafts through the ventilation and i'm just stood there chopping vedge suddenly going amd for a smoke :D

ahh quitting can be so hard, in a month i've dropped from almost a pack a day to maybe half a small pack (20's) so maybe 10 a day. Step one was sleeping thru the night without craving one, i've gone almost an entire week, which for me the person who wakes up 10 times a night is freaking hard lol

Man, i can't conceive of smoking a pack a day etc, i smoke maybe 3 or 4 rollups a day and that annoys me as it is. Although that's why i smoke rollups, i've always found straights don't do bugger all for any craving i have and can happily light up another 5 minutes later, rollups on the other hand fuck me up, they render me incapable of working haha :D super headrush
