i hear ya,.. its one problem with the way i chose to go, but then again i grow um 4-5' tall, so they need a little more then a 3" net pot to hold onto without falling over, and needing to be tied and supported, which is always something i try to avoid having to do,.. even though i still do a little, its just a pain.

So hows a bubbler work? Is it just small dwc, or do the stems/roots not hit the water?
I wondered if plants that size could live in a 3" netpot- I believe they can. All the netpot does is hold them from falling down. The roots should hold themselves I would think, but I could be wrong. My chamber uses 2" netpots, and I'll soon see if they can get a few weeks of veg and still work in that size. Atomizer has a good idea of cubing some rockwool chunks to about 1cm2 and lightly packing them in with the seed/clone. Hand water them daily until the roots exit (which is fast with the little resistance) and the rockwool eventually helps lock the roots in later. I think thats about what a bubbler is, but I never have used one myself. I guess the popping bubbles make enough mist for the roots to live off of above. They are not submerged in the water.

Ooooh i gotcha now. Still its going to need to grow scar tissue first, and thus why it takes 3 weeks. I just did it to a house plant today :P
Nice, keep us posted on the results. I'm not quite sure why the scar tissue is any much different this way than with a normal clone, but it could be. I suppose since the plant is still recieving flow from the stem, it might not be so aggressive to root as fast. But since it keeps growing from the stem nourishment, the extra time can be mitigated by just starting a week earlier than you normally would, the branch should still be growing from the stem during the extra week, right?

Ya you totally could start earlier, i guess the slowness is only really going to be a drag once in the beginning. I still hate losing a big arm, and would want to see how fast an mj plant took to grow new leaves with a bigger branch of a clone, i ponder if the roots below would be like, 'ok good for you up there, but we're just going to need that much longer to catch up',.. but they would have more solar collectors above to help do it, so thats good.

Edit:
...and my plants would grow just the same in 3" net pots, cept they wouldn't stand as well. I bought some real tough 3" pots, but even they will fall through a hole or get tipped in a hole. I don't like the 6" net pot bucket lids for what the plant has to grow through, but i do love that they never fall over or down into a hole.

I'm thinking i make some sort of bubbler to get um started, nothing but those foam collars to hold clippings till the roots are long enough to fish down through something bigger.

It sounds like the main issue might be the firmness of the lid the netpot is in. Perhaps you can reinforce it somehow? In my chamber, I have some mesh lining the walls to help the roots grow and spread, bonus is they firmly anchor with it as well. It seems the only real reason I have to consider netpot diameter is the thickness of the stalks, but I don't plan on them getting over 2" lol- but if they do I will happily accept the issue- :)

id like to see these as well
what do u mean MOQ
Minimum order quantity (sorry)
Wow. That's cool, but it really doens't have to be that much work. Mine took like 3 minutes. 1.5 gallon pail.
For a simple one bucket system it doesn't need to be that complicated but he ties these together and then uses an extra bucket to control the level of the water. If you look at some of his grows in his sig he does quite well.

In other news,.. i took some of those extra misters i have now and tried to make a 6 nozzle plant misting system over the ladies vegging, but it doesn't seem the aquatec 6800 'has the power' either. With the res about 4-5' lower then the pump and nozzles, 12' of line total, i couldn't get them to mist at all. I'm going to mess with it more today, but feel i might need an acc tank for a multitude of reasons...
Missed this the first time.....

I had a similar problem with 4 misters. The 6800 is self priming but any back-pressure and it fails to prime. Try throwing in a tee and shutoff valve that routes straight back to the res. When you first start it up open the valve and run the pump until you get a good flow then close the valve and you should be good to go.

ya know i knew that sucker should do it, thanks im gonna try something like that to get the flow going. problem might be, between mists is going to be maybe an hour, and im wondering if it'll work right after the wait, and the misters drip a bit... ill get it at some point,.. or an acc because i bet the dripping is going to piss me off
