I have 5 seeds from really good white widow and 1 bagseed that was oddly really good compared to the others. I have two cfl 225 W [that glow purple for some reason] they were really cheap. I put aluminum foil on the brown part of my closet and left the white wall the way it was. 3 seeds are in germination while 3 plants are now on day 16 about 3 inches high. Right when they sprouted i moved the lights to a 18/6 schedule i have to scrog them due to limited size in this closet. I'm watering whenever the soil looks dry and using miracle grow twice a week. When the plants get larger i plan to use PurpleMaxx on one plant only [Hey if i can get 1 purple rest green im ok :)] most likely that plant will just be more potent. I used decent soil, the plants look extremely healthy no signs of brown or struggles.

Are there any set up tips you have for a 1st time grower that arent the 'norm'? Plus this site has lots of photos but for some reason not many photos of the first stages im wondering when the second leaves will come? [the first four leaves on all plants have unfolded]

the plant will start growing more around 2 weeks after they first broke the soil. the first 2 weeks the seedling is putting out roots and building a good base to work from.potency is not determined by the colour of a plant but how much thc they put out. white widow is a potent strain anyway.

Ah alright they were about a foot away but thats the problem probably to far away from lighting. i was already going to move em closer to scrog so i will fix that :). alright ill discontinue the miracle grow, and yes very positive they came in a plastic casing and only two days ago did i remove that casing so that also could help a ton.

as you can see dark you gotta be right about the stunted growth because thats what i have so far after 2 weeks hopefully it picks up pace with the new lighting arrangements

first mistake get them planted in indivdual pots not 3 in 1 pot if there roots become entangled your going to have a big problem transplanting them. could also be the very reason they look stunted..

I wish that there was an easier way, but if you’re as new to this as I think you are I suggest the following:
1. Read: SeeMoreBud’s book, “MARIJUANA BUDS FOR LESS GROW 8 OZ. OF BUDS FOR LESS THAN $100.”
2. Read: Jorge Cervantes’s book, “MARIJUANA HORTICULTURE THE INDOOR/OUTDOOR MEDICAL GROWER’S BIBLE.”
3. Read: Ed Rosenthal’s, “MARIJUANA GROWER’S HANDBOOK
4. You’ll also want to subscribe to, “HIGH TIMES,” magazine. Each issue is chocked full of useful information. .” All these resources are very well written, well illustrated and packed with information that will answer your questions before you know to ask them. This will save you and your plants a lot of anxiety. I hope this helps. HSA

You should have filled the pots up entirely and just put them in there final home now you will have to transplant again sooner then later. Get the light way closer to them! And you should hold off on the nutrients for quite a while longer. It would prob be a good idea to fill the dirt up close to the first leaves. Good luck

Update: Added more high grade soil, had enough to get pretty close to first set of leaves thanks for that tip. Yes they all do the green one has ghetto holes on the bottom hah.

Due to lighting problems [not being about to mount the light close enough to pot plants] i am moving the plants from closet to a cubbie i will update with picture so i can get suggestions but thanks everyone for tips so far

and i would really recommend you'll mix the soil with perlite before transplanting them.

good luck, it is not that complex, it just that there are some things to learn.
