my ghetto set up

hey guys a couple days ago, i came up with some hawaiian snow and chernobyl seeds that a buddy of mine gave me. I did some research and I germinated the seeds and I dont have any equipment of what so ever, just two small pots and a small lamp wich is realy bright and warm and some good soil. Ima post the pictures and you guys give me an opinion if the seeds are eligible to sprout. If they do sprout i will get some equipment asap and get on my grow shit, since CT just allowed medical cannabis 2 days ago. even doe its effective begining Oct 2012. I know it looks a little cheesy but hey im doing this just to try it out and see if i get any motivation from it.


please let me know how can i improve and make these seeds sprout,,

have you thought ahead about when the plant grows? What happens when it gets big?

You won't need any light until the seeds hit the surface. You will need to keep the soil a little moist and keeping them a little warmer than the surrounding air speeds things greatly. I'm guessing you just put the seed straight into the soil, any time I do that I'm looking at a maximum of three days to break the surface. You will then need a bare minimum of 50W T5 (I haven't used CFL's in a long time) on top of them as seedlings.

Congratulations on the law change, I'm jealous even if it doesn't kick off for a few months but that would be more than enough motivation for me to get my grow on!

i dnt know wich kind of bulb is it. but its white bulb and its realy strong.. once again its my first time.. And after it grown if it sprouts i have more then enuff space to work with it, and equipment are right around the corner. And to be honest i have no idea wtf im doing , like i said im trying it out. I was searching and i like this site and it seems like you guys have good experience so i was hopeing to get some good tips..

You really need to do some reading. Read all the stickies on this forum. You need some knowledge before you go to the Hydro shop or they will rape your ass dry! They love newbies, and take full advantage.

Right now light isn't even needed. Just put in a warm spot and keep moist(not soaking) they should sprout in a few days. Then you'll need some florescent bulbs. 2ft long t5 that require a shop light fixture or small spiral bulbs that screw into sockets. Try and get ones in the 6500k color range.

Go to your hysdro store or the hardware store and get a 75w CFL. They look like this. What you want is a bulb that has a spectrum of around 6500k. It will say on the bulb or on the packaging. Use that for now and as you read more and your plant grows you will start to learn what else you need.

For a beginner, I'd suggest Lowes, everything is there, or Home Depot, I just don't go there because I have a vendetta with my store, I'll never grace that incompetent place with my presence ever again, assholes fired me when half the people there don't know shit. Other than that most Home Depots are pretty good, just work out how you want to set up your grow space and compartmentalize it, only tell the lumber guy about your frame, nothing else, the electrical guy only about your wiring and lights, you get the idea?

If anyone asks you can say you are building an enclosed entertainment center. You'll run one IR cable out of it to control everything. It needs compartments and venting. Worked for my story. I'm not sure what type of room you have but you will eventually need to have a light tight area for flower so no light leaks in. I started out very similar to you. Just a few plants and a lights in a closet doing internet searches until i came here. as i learned more i realized a closet usually isn't light tight and i needed to build a cab. It was pretty easy but there is always something more you want. So now i have a small cab in the closet that vents out to a storage area. I did all cfl veg and now have an hps for flower. things you need to think about.
