President Barack Obama was caught on camera on Monday assuring outgoing Russian President Dmitry Medvedev he will have "more flexibility" to deal with contentious issues like missile defense after the U.S. presidential election.

Not turning it into one. It already is. Why doesn't he do his fucking job instead he is worried about getting re-elected. This is one of the major flaws in our system and happens to be one of the modern liberals key issues so why is it different for obama? You Obama lovers are like fucking stasi.

It is a fact that elections effect the ability of nations to come to diplomatic compromise. That is a fact regardless of who the president is or even the country in question.

If this fact makes Obama a traitor then every elected leader in the history of the world is a traitor.

It's not corruption to state a fact nor is this a case of a politician being dirty. The fact is that during an election year your political enemies will grasp on to anything they can politicize which effects the out come of negotiations. Obama isn't even relevant to that FACT. If McCain was president the problem would be exactly the same.

It's an unfortunate byproduct of democracy.

He is doing both, they are related. If Obama were to start up negotiations about a missile defense shield during an election year the issue would end up turning into a political football by muppets like you who are looking for any excuse to criticize the president. This makes it WAY less likely anything meaningful would come out of such negotiations. Policy wise AND politically we are all better off having that negotiated after the election.

At this point I really don't care. No matter who wins (like we're really given a choice) it's the same shit with a different flavor. These politicians really just support the elite class and throw us some crumbs. Just came out a few days ago that the healthcare plan says that if Grandma gets cancer at 76, we're just going to let her die (at least the republicans wanted to push her off the cliff instead of letting her suffer before dying). I'm sure as time goes on more gems will surface.

I had college professors literally saying republicans are retarded because the healthcare plan will not raise insurance on people who actually pay, 2 years later and my insurance costs 33% more with more hikes coming soon!
