There is no official libertarian stance on abortion but I mean if your a libertarian your likely to think (but not nessecarily) that the government shouldn't be involved with abortion, the same thing Ron Paul believes and also the same thing GJ believes. Its easy to think that Dr Paul would want the states involved because thats what he has said sometimes or insinuated but its a moot point really because he doesn't believe its even possible to police such a thing or that it should be attempted. Dr Paul prescibes morning after pills and birth control himself lol
Then when Dr Paul tries to look good to republican voters he crafts his words to look like he believes the usual republican pro-life stuff but he really doesn't so that makes him look bad to liberal women, really a catch 22 here. Dr Paul does believe in naturual law but really so does any christian or just about any philosophical person and thats a good talking point on abortion but he doesn't believe in constitutional amendment and the normal pro-life stuff we are all accustomed to from evangelicals and right wing, its really a completely different view. Many people have such strong views on this issue that its either your pro-life or pro-choice but really thats not the reality, this isn't such a 2 dimensional issue. Much like Gary Johnson and Dr Paul, I consider myself pretty much pro-life ethically but essentially I am pro choice because I don't think its the governments business.
I think all this is exemplified well in the GJ interview beardo posted, I mean.....sorry guys I understand how strongly some feel about this but its not pro-choice or pro-life, maybe it is for you, but the reality is that its just not that 2-demensional...there is a 3rd, 4th, and even a 5th stance on this issue.
