a lot of people shy away from sog all because the numbers game..
Agreed. I have done sog and for a confined space its the way to go but if Im going to get busted for a hundred plants, It better be worth ita lot of people shy away from sog all because the numbers game..
Keeping mothers in dwc, those girls are going to blow right up and probably out grow their space. On the other hand, if you plan on having new cuts in the room every ten days you might get away with keeping them in dwc, probably not, but maybe....4 Mothers so far sitting in 4 DWC Bubble Buckets. Hope those 4 moms can give me that many cuttings, we'll see.
Anyone have any more comments from when they were a newb or anything with grow it would be good to hear. Seems to me the SOG is a no brainer.
lots of silly assumptions hereEight foot trees, indoors. You must have at the very least 10 foot high ceilings to have room for 8 foot tall plants, your lighting, the minimal room you need to keep between the tops of your plants and your lighting, plus the height of your pots (or whatever you grow in). That would easily eat up most or all of 10 feet. Twelve feet high or higher would make even more sense. What do you do to get adequate light to the bottom several feet of your plants, use some form of supplemental lighting?
One small note about cats running the counter at a hydro shop- if they really knew what they were talking about, they'd be running a highly productive grow op, not running the counter at a hydro shop for minimum wage.I've been to several local hydro stores looking for supplies for my first grow. When I tell people my set up and what I'm doing for my first grow (Ebb Flow table, SOG, 4 plants per sq ft, no veg time, straight from clone to flower), they look at me like I have 2 heads. Most of the time they simply tell me no one grows like that, or I've never heard of such a thing.
On the net it seems to be thought of so highly. I wonder why there is such a discrepancy at the local level around here. What blows people's minds the most is the no VEG thing. These guys are literally telling me I will get nothing and I simply have to VEG for 10-15 days.
I'm a newb, and as such I have no place to argue with them. I've compiled my set up and will execute my sog grow mainly from information I've found researching on this forum. I hope the results are not what they are telling me they're going to be.
Agreed. All the guys that work in my local shop grow but they are pretty amateurish at best. The best knowledge you can get is generally found from the experienced growers here. One small note about cats running the counter at a hydro shop- if they really knew what they were talking about, they'd be running a highly productive grow op, not running the counter at a hydro shop for minimum wage.
'Nuff said.
*sigh* Use the counter folks' best expertise for everything it's worth... and that's writing up the sale and getting you on your way.Agreed. My local hydro guys couldn't get past week 5 with any of their aeroponics grows so they STRONGLY advised me against doing it. I just finished week 6 and it's never been better.
arr arr arrhaha if you work at the hydro shop it means you dont grow IMO(or at least good). as far as cats in the shop thats kinda of annoying i hate hair in my bud.
I am not employed by anyone but me. I DO have a 'business' account with my hydro supplier, so I do buy at wholesale prices (which are not 'cost' prices- supplier is still making a profit from my purchases), but I am not employed by the hydro shop.you work there so you get everything at cost and have unlimited acess to any products at any time. and have conversions with others who are also into your same hobby as you.whats wrong with getting paid for being around something you like to do... there is far worse thing in life
