So you are combining 3 years of tax returns and claiming them for 1 year in order to make us all think you got some huge tax return? LOL indeed.
You took a real job for all of 3 weeks last year, did you make $80,000 in those few weeks to justify a several thousand dollar extra in return over what would have been a normal return?
boy, you are making some wild assumptions here, many of them false.
i worked until july of 2009 at one of those fancy desk jobs, made about $18k in that half a year, and took UI the rest.
2009: making work pay tax credit ($400) + first $2400 of UI exempt ($240) = $640 in tax breaks. used it to rewire the electric in the garage and buy more lights, lumber, fans, etc. great investment on "found" money.
i worked seasonal jobs for my father in law in 2010 and took Ui the rest of the time.
2010: making work pay tax credit ($400) + first $2400 of UI exempt ($240) + expanded EITC ($unsure, have to look) = $640+ in tax breaks. used it to build a greenhouse and buy even more lights, lumber, and fans for the garage. another great investment with "found" money.
i worked 4 months of the year in 2011, forgoing UI to do so, quit that job, collected nothing. doesn't matter because the tax breaks in the ARRA expired. might have saved a little money on the payroll tax cut, about 2.6% of $8k.
2011: payroll tax cut (~$200).
so altogether, over the last three years, obama's tax cuts have saved me AT LEAST $1500, possibly more.
If you got more money back than you paid in you did not receive a tax return, what you got was a wealth redistribution. You can't get more back than you put in and call it a refund.
i got back everything i put in last year, that part was a refund.
i also took advantage of the EITC, netting me about $300 or so, which is almost exactly how much it cost me to put the new and improved greenhouse up. thanks for that, fellow taxpayers. your wealth redistribution is not in vain, i invest that small amount of money wisely along with a lot of hard work to keep myself off the dole. that $300 investment prevents $300 a month in food stamps and other social welfare dollars that i fully qualify for.
the plastic is not on yet and won't be until we have a few sunny days in a row, but it is included in that $300 price tag, along with fans and extension cords yet to be purchased. also need a couple more 2x4s and some rebar, it's not stable enough for my liking in the center and i will be taking no chances this year.
