If your coco is composted correctly it should come precharged with mycos, but adding more into the mix will definitely show benefits.

Canna comes loaded with some.........but great white is a different one. Says it on the bag. It's the different kind then great white. And the great white one is specific to aid in nutrient uptake. I think Canna has prec and great white is myc crozihea....sp? haha

"mycos" (used to be called pumpkin pro) made by extreme gardening co, in salinas, california is a good product and only cost a fraction of the price of anything u wud find in a grow shop.. u buy it by the pound and its still cheaper than anything else.. u wont find it @ your shop because the company is aimed more toward farming industry so order it from them directly.. i shud mention that its only one isolated strain, but it got my attention yrs ago when a guy started breaking world records for growing worlds heaviest pumpkin & he was givin mycos alot of credit... it is used for many types of crops, in a variety of plant growing contests and is only company using dna testing on their strains... they also have other good benificial bacteria products i use like "azos" which is a nitrogen fixing strain that has been used for growing record holding veggies in asia for many years but it was just made legal in usa in past few yrs.. its said the their "cal-carb" foliar product works wonders and i think it is a co2 enhancer or something? they gave me sum at a trade show but i never got into it bcuz it leaves a heavy white powder on leaves that must be washed off later.. but ive heard good things about it... google them and check em out.. if u order stuff, then tell them jberry from santacruz sent u.. and no, i do not work for them or personally know anyone who works there or recieve any comps fyi... im know i have many posts on riu with tons more info on all of the above if u wanna take a look around.. -peace.

I don't know. I just know it works and it doesn't kill my young clones when I transplant them into it like the Sunshine #4 did. It has to be the Yellow Bag!

Question - been thinking about switching from organic soil to coco for faster growth and maybe more yield. Looking at Plant Magic coco coir (as there uk based and already made ready) and there line of nutes to go with coco. So question is. You mix in grow a into water and water plant then mix grow b with water then water plant? Correct have to do it separately?
Also do you have to PH adjust your nutrient mix before watering? I thought the coco automatically buffered it to whatever needed as was pre done in a way. Selene clarification be great

No, you mix the A into water, then the B into water, and repeat with whatever else you're adding. You will adjust PH after all your nutrients are mixed together with the water. In coco you want a 5.7-6.1 PH.

Hi all. I'm moving from a peat and perl mix to a Botanicare Cocogro and perl mix 80/20 ish. The 5kg botanicare brick said, hydrate with 3 gallons of water. This is what I did....
1 tsp/gallon Cal Mag, 1/2 tsp/ gallon Liquid Karma, pHd to 5.8, and it took almost 5 gallons to wet the whole brick.
-Should I add Dolomite Lime to the mix? I'll be growing in 2.5-3 gallon containers.

Wow, I´ve spent an hour browsing this thread. Some great info, but couldn´t find specific answers I´m looking for.
I currently use 2 x 18 site big boy bucket systems with 3 gallon pots and hydroton. 6000 watts hps and CO2 in a sealed room.
I wanted to try coco. I bought 10 3 gallon smart pots and 3 bags of coco (mostly pyre with small strands). I transplanted some 24 inch Purple Mr Nice from 7 inch plastic hydroton pots into the smart pots with a layer of hydroton in the bottom of the bags. They went to 12-12 on a 4 x 4 ebb and flow tray flooding 5 times a day. After 2 weeks in flower they are about 40 inches or more. I had to stake them and tie them down cuz of the crazy growth.
I think I love coco.
Here is my question,,
Can I use the coco, and smart pots in my flood and drain bucket systems?
It would be a lot easier than bringing in a whole new feeding system.
Thanks in advance to anyone who has tried this, Or is using a similar setup, and can give me some advice,,,,,,,,,,

As I've thrown around the idea of trying some hydroponics and coco separately, I often wondered if I could use them together. The answer I kept getting was no, but I've never tried it. I've been told the coir from flooding won't cooperate with your drain and your pump, but I'm still not convinced. After being told this, I wondered, hmmmm why not cocochips? Have you considered the chips at all? Seems to me that either would probably work, although the coir may require some extra maintenance.
Still a major prOn shortage around here!

This is my 1st experience with coco, or Smart pots. The 10 I have going are in 3 gal. Smart pots in the fine crushed coco on a hydro table. They are 10 days younger than 18 plants of the same strain in the 3 gallon ebb and flow bucket system. The flowers aren´t as developed, but the coco girls are bigger and healthier plants.
With the smart pots, There isn´t any medium going into the nutrient mix, as long as you are careful and don´t tip a plant.
I might try the large chips in the buckets. But I haven´t read where someone has the Smart Pots in the buckets. I might have to be the guinea pig
