What Base Nutrient line are you running?

Started CNS17 in my current veg room, 24 plants, definitely too strong going off the bottles rec. I had to ease up a bit. It came out at 1400ppms. I like to veg around 800ppm. We will see how it goes. So far so good. The stuff looks like milk. Wasn't expecting that. Clears up fairly well once mixed.

i started with miracle grow and fish way before the interwebs.

when i got serious, i started with GH, then botanicare, then advanced nutes, then botanicare, then dutch masters (hated it), and then back to advanced (grow/bloom and big bud) and molasses.

i've gone from using 10 or more products to 4. life is much simpler.

OH, and if you are using molasses, don't dump it out in the bathtub or you'll have to do some cleaning up. that stuff sticks to the side of the tub and the bathtub mat. :)

Started using fox farm then switched to advanced, then GO, then botanicare and now Canna. I'd have to say canna is the best and simplest. Then advance, then bontanicare, go and fox farm finishing last IMO. Botanicare is good but for my type of growing canna is by far the best. Liked fox farms but didn't get the results I was searching for. Advanced I had the highest yields and some of the prettiest flowers, but the smoke wasn't that great. GO produces very tastey flowers but lacked density and wasn't my cup of tea. Botanicare gave me pretty tastey and dense nuggets, but compared to canna...well there isn't a comparison. I love the fact that botanicare is here in AZ but until I start doing a drain to waste, I'll stick with Canna. :) plus canna works wonders with my microbial teas ;)

i think i might give canna a shot next time. i never thought about different products affecting the taste/smell/high of the buds. i usually just go with what's easy.

Just don't ever add anything to your plant that you can't flush out in time before harvest time, and your taste will not be greatly effected. All advanced nutes give me an "advanced nutes" taste, regardless of flush(as me and some buddies call it)

Generally I wouldn't recommend paying for any of the product lines out there, but there are certain products on the market today that really do things that no other product does. (See Superthrive, Hygrozyme, Silica Blast) Other than that, every single other line is reselling animal shit (or a fermented plant extract which is even easier to obtain and far more reusable of a source), or the same product in different concentrations.

The best Organic line I have ever grown with also happens to be the cheapest, and no longer sold by stores around town (not enough money in it for them) The best synthetic line I have seen is also not carried by stores, instead they opt for synthetic and organic products that carry a much higher price tag. When it comes to choosing your nutrient line, I wouldn't go by what cannabis enthusiasts are buying from boutique shops (which would not exist if for the legalization of cannabis), but what real agriculture industry professionals use in other lines of commercial growing.

Simply put you would never see a professional grower adding nutrients that cost .40$ per gallon of water they use, to achieve results they can achieve similarly at .04 $ per gallon.

Now that being said, if I didn't know exactly what was going on in my plants rhizosphere and wanted to do a 1 part or stick with a boutique shop line, I would follow Advanced feeding schedule for yield
(tailored for cannabis), and I would follow Biocanna or Earthjuice for a plant I was aiming for good taste and personal smoke on (high quality sources of veganic and organic material).

If you want to source your own nutrients, grow your own biological innoculants, and mix your own supersoils, those will all be more effective than the usually biologically inactive stuff you will find in bottled / bagged form in the boutique stores.

I honestly can't name a shop in the valley that will try and steer you away from spending more, none of them carry the good cheap nute lines anymore and are in the process of phasing them all out. So trust what you hear from shop salesmen with a grain of salt.

Being 100% sustainable is a growers dream. Being able to reammend my soli and making my own compost definitely helps with the quality of flowers I produce. The only flaw I find in your comment, is broken down plant material, like biocanna, takes years and years to accomplish. Hence why the price tag is so high. Kyle Kushman has been making his line for quite some time and the only reason he hasn't released his veganic line of nutes is because of the break down process of fermented plants extractions. It literally takes forever to get it "perfect." IMO I'd try advanced again over earth juice...no offense but I have never had a tasty flower when earth juice was used as a base...NEVER

If this isn't your first rodeo (I know it isn't :D) then canna will be perfect. Definitely not for the beginning grower but once you get dialed in I have found nothing better. The bio line works wondering with my teas and all of my microbial life. It can be expensive but if you know how to use it it last quite some time. I was using about 5l per grow which is a lot but have now cut that down almost in half and now my flowers are better then ever ;) if you ever have any questions shoot a message at me...love people all over having superb quality flowers :)

You can make an FPE in a few weeks. I think you have been misinformed by someone that is using "kushman" in their name as a marketing ploy. Why would you trust someone who has changed their name to "kushman" to gain credibility?

What he has done is taken a method that has been used for hundreds of years, and tried to reinvent it for the "grow shop" type of grower. Veganics are awesome and far more sustainable than any other form of growing... don't get me wrong, but Biocanna is literally 5 X more expensive than any line out there, and is not the holy grail to growing. Despite all its touted benefits, growers using it face the same pitfalls everyone else does with deficiencies etc.

I would look at the 8 line side by side 420 mag did using Earthjuice, advanced, biocanna, foxfarm, dynagrow (and a few others I can't remember). You will learn a lot about all the nutrient lines there including how to use them, how much they cost, and the results you can expect. (your gonna have to google it, long read but worth it) For a quick rundown, he biocanna and earthjuice scored the highest among all of the lines.

Sorry about your experiences with others who used earth juice, it seems like you might need to go around the block a few more times.

You are right man. They do only take a few weeks but letting them ferment longer and breaking them down slower is always an added benefit. What I've noticed, is the longer I let some FPE sit, they seem to be more enriched with microbes and overall nutrient elements. I still get results when only doing them for 3 weeks (about 21 days), don't get me wrong lol, but it seems to pack more of a punch. Even when brewing teas, letting that sit an extra couple days is stifling how much a difference it makes.

Canna is very pricey, but after using it for quite some time now, ive better understood how veganics work. Reusing and amending my soil with certain products has made my overall cost go down. I still have to buy BioCanna but not nearly as much. For the quality of flower you get, I'd say you get what you pay for. In the aspect you described, not everyone is going to take the time, like you and I, to basically make our own nutes. Nor do people have the resources to do so. That being said, Canna is a fantastic product, for what it is.

I would never deter anyone away from fermenting their own plant extractions, amending their own soil or even using any brand of nute company. Everyone has their own preference but all I know from being around for some time is, veganics is some of the tastiest, most pure, light smoke I've ever had. :weed: VEGANICS FTW IMO

p.s. maybe I need someone to hit your block a few times ;) pm me again I lost your credentials lol

I don't want to go on about this too much longer, but the efficacy of nutrients is also going to depend on how it is stored after production. For instance, is that bottle of biocanna you bought being stored at a refrigerated temperature or being used directly off the production line? Something to think about when going out and buying any bottled nutrient and also a good reason to think about sourcing your own shit!!

I picked up 1L of Bio Flores and 250ml of bio boost and bio rhizotonic for 90 bucks. I didn't get the vega because I also charged my soil but that would have been another 30 bucks. I spent $215 on the whole house and garden lineup last time. I understand I bought smaller bottles of Bio Canna but even for all 1L it would have been about 200 so I didn't feel like it was pricey. Eager to start the lineup. I just planted some comfrey and stinging nettles seeds last night so it's cool to hear you guys are making your own fpe's because that's what I'm going for eventually. All I've made so far are microbe teas and a tea from grass clippings.

I did an experiment. I didn't document it or anything so ya'll will just have to take my word for it. But here it is. I took 3 identical (as close as possible) clones from an Aurora mother. Once they were ready to feed I used A) Fox Farms trio B) X Nutrients and C) Botanicare CSN17. Long story short, X and B-Care kick FF's ass. B-Care is far out performing X in veg. I'll let ya'll know how the story ends, but for my money the odds are on CSN17.

Good to hear man. I just switched to the CNS17 for my current grow. We will see how it measures up!
