Why is Racism Bad?

i know this is a bit off topic, but not much.. i often wonder if racism isn't inherent in all of us to a certain degree..
for instance, think about the saying a bird of a feather flocks together.. it's very true.. i was sitting out in the yard when a slew of birds flew into a near by tree.. had to be a thousand or so.. the thing was covered in them..
what was really odd was that every single bird on that tree were all of the same species.. not one bird was different.. it really made me think about shit.

No hate here but,

Birds have different species and most flock with their species.

All humans are the same species, homo sapien.

Here is the deal...I don't know if I am racist or not...but I do not like people that fit the bad side of their stereotypes.
And, do you know where stereotypes come from?----statistics...and they don't usually lie...

It gets sketchy when we start to discuss why those statistics exist.

I will not dislike someone because of their color, but if they give me reason not to like them, then I will not like them...but after a while you start to see a pattern in your dealings with certain peoples....so you naturally come to your own conclusions...so don't act like a dick, you might be being your race's ambassador.

Most bad decisions/behavior people make, imo, come from socio-economic cultural differences and not race. Grew up in the hood and I seen all colors act a fool, the same fool, no less-white, black, messican, chinkachangastan, etc.

Hmm.. I got a german shepherd puppy the other say. She was two months when I got her. She had never seen another dog besides the rest of her litter since she was locked up in the back by her owner. Well I also have a miniature pinscher. When I brought her home she started barking at the little dog. But she didn't bark at any other dogs in my neighborhood (big dogs). I did some research on her and found out that german shepherds naturally dislike smaller breeds of dogs. She was not "taught" to dislike smaller breeds. It was just natural for her. That's what gets me. All domestic dogs are part of the same species (correct me if I'm wrong); canis lupus familiaris. But there are many different breeds of dogs. Much like domestic dogs, homo sapiens have different "breeds" too. What if racism is actually natural for many of our races? What if we actually are born racist but we're taught to accept other races as our equals (which they are IMO)? I'm not saying anything or trying to make a point. This thought just popped into my head and now I'm curious. IDK somebody tell me what you think.

Even if we are born racist, you're still a ignorant fool if you're racist past your teen years when you should be smart enough to tell that races are equal.



Did you guys know wayy back in the day some evolutionary charts showed primates slowly evolving into humans. Before it gets to the final stage, it shows a black male with a tail, then just a black male, and finally a white person. So fucked up. My english professor told me this while he was telling me a story about an ignorant little girl asking him if he really had a tail attached to his body.

And I'm not sure if racism is a bad thing or just stupid. Like alot of people are afraid of pit bulls because of their rep. Some people are afraid to walk around black people at night because they're afraid of their rep too. The people that are afraid of ALL pit bulls are stupid IMO.. but it's not a bad thing. It's not like they go around killing all the pit bulls in their neighborhood, they're just honestly scared of pit bulls. It's the same for people that are scared of black people, they're just honestly scared of them too. I think racism turns "bad" when you act on it. Like the KKK.. they're just complete dick heads.

i can deal with a random race couple makin out on the street but i cant say the same if it were two dudes no matter what color they were. thats just me though. i mean we all came from the same place so whats the real difference between us besides skin color.

Did you do anything when you witnessed the act of racism..?

The racism I witnessed was mostly during the late 70's when I was 8-12 yrs old. I was too young to do anything. I remember in 1978, I was at a tourist attraction in Florida.....There was a big lake....I saw a family of 4 Black people attempt to get in the shallow part of the Lake where hoards of white people were wading in the shallow water....The family started getting tons of attention and it looked like a group of whites was starting to confront the family and make them leave...but I didn't get to see the rest of what happened. I don't know if they actually got in their car and left.....it was ugly and it hurt my feelings. I don't want racism in my life

for shear numbers, "racism" has all been eliminated from out society. however, it depends on what we call "racism". originally, it was the use of the N word, just to name one. now, if you dont agree with a person of colors "veiws", then it seems the norm now that thats "racism". in five years, at the current pace of our "progressiveness" (stupid), all it will take is a glance at someone, who knows they may make a buck from some ambulance chasing attourney (john edwards?-lol), and they wont have to work. oh, shoot. i forgot. they allready dont work. the politically correct system (that will be our downfall), gives him handouts. so. the correct thing to say, would be that he wont have to collect the free sheet anymore, that he will live off ill gotten gains from a vote of jururs who are afriad of a darn riot, if they dont see it the plaintiffs way. anyway, the person who is sued, gets a huge jack up in their insurance premiums, and has to lay off one of their 3 full time shifts. so now a couple hundred hard working americans are now out of work. RACISM. hmmmm. if you look at the history of racism and the misery and suffering it caused,how can it not be bad?

often ppl who have never been racially abused and discriminated against think racism is ok.

theres nothing wrong with loving ppl of the same colour as you and saying "white power" or "black power".you can do that and still have love for other races too.

I totally agree, I'm not the least bit racist but I can not stand the fact that these "handouts" exist, it's actually sickening, physically sickening. These "handouts" also exist for illegal immigrants, whom aren't suppose to be here in the first place.. crazy.

that is totally true...and there is a terrible history to all this...the breeding of humans for specific tasks during oppressive times for certain cultures has caused some of the rifts and stereotypes we speak of...anyway...

Wrong!!!!!! Racism is bad too many people have died over it from our past to still now this present day! Buck the little kids who've seen their family members lynched right before their eyes and call them whiney pussies. If you've never seen racism at it's worse please don't make comments like that. Makes me wonder!!!! I am far from racist but having to deal with it growing up from the black and the whites made me who I am today. A strong minded HUMAN BEING who happens to be black and I'm not 100% mostly black by like 80%, the others are French(I don't speak it) and Cherokee (which my great grandmother was 1/2 black and Native American). Funny thing is we all came from one woman from Africa (Lucy the first woman to walked the earth). This was discover by white scientist years ago.
