Germany has a very large welfare state. Far larger than anything liberals could hope to accomplish here.
Germanys Government pays everyone unemployment when they become unemployed, but the amount paid is extremely small compared to other European states and it's a nice balance of fairness because they kick "long term unemployed" off.

The Federal EU (IMO) will basically be the same as the way the United States is run, individual nations will elect representatives to the European Parliment much like how your State and Federal Governments.

When this consolidation happens, does unified europe only get one seat at the UN? or does the US then get 50?
I'd imagine "United Europe" member states will lose their seats in the General Assembly and "United Europe" will get a permanent seat on the Security Council.

Yeah but that 5 dollars saves the government thousands of dollars a year for each person.
not to mention it is not $5 a month, that is the kind of figure that a douche who has never met or known a woman in real life would quote.

They just keep throwing paper at the problems.

I think instead of worrying about a booming economy we should try to have stable growth that sustainable in the long run.

When organisms benefit at the expense of their host, we call them parasites, when it happens with humans, we call it socialism.

And earlier today Germany announces its considering a Federal Europe as a solution to the debt crisis, due to escalating worries regarding Spain and Portugal.

I should be a pundit or something.

I've been hearing calls that the United States should bailout Europe. I think that is a joke, that would kill the dollar. We are almost at our debt ceiling as it is.

Too bad Eurozone policymakers are retarded... If the ecb and IMF were even semi competent this whole issue would've been resolved much sooner.
