"Latvia’s over-exuberant boom was cut short by the global financial crisis in 2008, bringing a banking crash, a huge budget deficit, a bail-out by the European Union and IMF and one of the harshest austerity regimes in Europe. Unlike Greece, Latvia made the wrenching adjustment with striking speed, and has since returned to robust growth"

this cracks me up. ignore all the failed austerity measures, point to the few where it was not a miserable failure.

ya know what else is funny? how you guys kept saying during the health care debate "but we're not like those other countries! what works for them won't work for us!".

but now, you hold up estonia and latvia like they are perfect fucking models.

it's just LOL. the partisan hackery is strong in this crowd.

why would i be butthurt when you are guys are displaying such overwhelming hypocrisy and ignoring anything that doesn't jive with your world view (confirmation bias)?
Not ignoring anything. I clearly pointed out why austerity wasn't working in Greece. Again, are you dyslexic or delusional? Or Butt hurt?

Austerity works, ask any European country that has strictly followed austerity measures. Growth and dropping bond yields.

Clearly a total fail, yeah?

So which Greek God is the god of Austerity? I know Zeus was god of thunder and Apollo was the sun god...Was Hades the god of austerity?
Athena, the goddess of wisdom and craftsmen. she frequently counciled foolish mortals to save their gold rather than waste it on fripperies.

thats why aristotle's chariot didnt roll spinnin rims.

oh, yes. i forgot. austerity isn't working nearly everywhere else because it's not pure, colombian, uncut austerity.

same reason why communism keeps failing.

There is NO austerity in Greece, lol, ask the EU/IMF troika, they've been trying to get Greece to actually implement austerity and cut its deficit for years now.

Youll see soon when the Fiscal Stability Treaty comes into effect, it essentially bans Keynesian Economics in the EU.
