i've read through that bestseedbank site, they seemed seemed to match my experiences in seed ordering(and other posted experiences on the grow sites)
i'd give them some good credibility

Curious how this strain smokes. BB xNL sounds like it could be a real winner. Relaxing yet upbeat emotionally I would hope.

Well I have some Indica leaning phenos and one nice Sativa dom to chose from.:weed:
I took some height control bud off this and quick dried it.As a potential indicator for future potency I have 2 words "Holy Shit!".

p.s. Who has been using Lemon Pledge and Pine Sol in my cab?

Northern Lights x Big Bud

Northern Lights x Big Bud was developed with the grower and smoker in mind. Big Bud has outrageous yield but tends to be a bit weak for the heavy smoker. Crossing Big Bud with a very potent Northern lights has made a more potent bud with losing only a small percent of the yield. The smoke from Northern Lights x Big Bud is rich and deep and the taste is lightly skunky.

  • * Stoned or high?: Stoney yet high- All around Buzz
  • * THC level: Medium 8-15%

I grew/harvested the auto NLxBB and I found it to have an energetic clear high. Definitely good for daytime when you still have shit to get done.

This is a BlueberryXNL#5 cross called Big Blue(breeder chose the biggest parents, but parents sex is not revealed).
From my research:HGS Black Queen for a fast finishing hard hitting couchlock Indica.HGS landrace Sativa's for a long flower, but a euphoric trippy Sativa buzz.

i did see you posted in the beginning of the thread these were pl 55w fluoro tubes
kind of look like t8's, either way the bud development looks very solid, there's a lot about fluorescent growing that i like

They are more like t5s bent in half, the 55w version puts out 4800 lumens initially, all in a 22" long twin tube.

liking what i'm seeing, i like fluoro technology, i know HPS does good stuff, but fluoro's strike me as safer for fire risk

Nice work mate. I just got my order from HGS and must say it was the easiest and most pleasent experience yet. I got big blue too as ive grown it about 10 years ago when it was produced by DJ short. Really nice smoke too. Your plants looks great too :)

Thanks and yes fire potentials, heat issues are minimised. Then again screwing in a hps bulb with greasy hands is asking for trouble.

That's great Mo and good luck with your grow.I am loving my Big Blue.Very easy grow keeping nutes on the lite side to match my floros.Odor is low and and easly remedied.2 flowering sisters are the Fruit loop pheno.More like Fruity Pebbles to my nose but put your nose up in there and it is a bowl full of sweet rotting exotic fruits, and you wanna get in on it before the flies come.2 other phenos I am keeping an eye on is a Lemon Pledge Sativa dom,and an Indica dom with piney skunk, fruity undertones, and near same stature of Fruit Loop.Fruit Loop sister I have been ravaging like an indiscriminate beast.Well atleast I have the untouched sister as control.I take Fruit Loop bud and cut up onto tinfoil.I spread it out and put in toaster oven.I put it on lite toast and let cool.Inspect moisture and pliability.Another round I shoot for lightly crispy or better just before.Brown buds cooked :( .In a bowl you just want to burn the surface.Signs of charring or harshnes flip the bud to avoid the plant matter.
So Fruit Loop is freaken delish.I cannot wait for a proper cure.Taste you want to lipsmack all day and a high that is well rounded but lets you know it.
I have EFP clones rooting and Black Queen waiting on my germ go.I was thinking of a Sativa dom Hybrid to round out my med/smile garden but the Lemon Pledge girl from little samples are heady nice 8) .

All in all from what I see,HGS is smooth sailing or launching take your pick.

p.s. anyone grow HGS Super Bud.Little info out there.

my smoke report from a couple years back

I grew my Super Bud outdoors and harvested when the trichomes were about 20% amber 70% cloudy 10% clear. They flowered for about 8.5 weeks. They dried for 5 days and have been in jars for 3.5 weeks

Smell- The smell off of these buds is incredible. Berries, lemon, and pine were the strongest smells but one of them smelled like all that but with a mango scent thrown in the mix.

Taste- Very similar to the smell and is very very sweet

Density- Buds are fluffy but not airy they break up very nicely... stickiest weed I've ever touched

Burn- Slow burning thick powerful smoke. I rolled a little joint that went around 6 people 8 times puff puff pass

High- WHOOOSH.... comes on strong and fast after the first hit and builds in waves after youve taken the last hit. Can be a great wake and bake as long as you don't over smoke. As mentioned by previous growers over smoking can result in some serious disorientation for a about an hour. If you start doing something shortly after smoking though it can turn into a very productive couple hours

Love this strain and will be hopefully doing some more of it in the future

I have grown HGS Super Bud.
There is much better to be had available. I wouldnt grow it again.
Not that it was bad, it wasnt bad, it was pretty good, but it lacked potency.
It was just nothing special. Pretty much every day, run of the mill strain.

I also grew out the Black Pearl.
It has a very unusual, strong smell and taste. Paint thinner or something similar is the best description I could give it.
If it had almost any other smell/taste I would call it a keeper. Very potent with a very nice buzz type, with good yields is hard to pass up, but the smell/taste ruins it. I gave 4 seeds of the super strain mix pack to a friend and he has them in flower now. All 4 are females and have yet to be identified. But part of the deal was, I give him the seeds, I get a sample from each female plant to see if its something I would be interesting in ordering. When its finished, cured, and sampled, Im sure I will update my opinions in one of the HGS threads.

Thks for the Black Pearl report. The mix pack is 15 seeds divided up by 9 unlabeled strains.I see a mix pack has it's place and appeal.I urge anyone to consider this before buying any seed mix. From the pack of Big Blue seeds.I killed off some with rusty germing skills.I just culled a female and flowering clone due to lack of performance at 8 wks.I have two keeper pheno's with one being what I imagine a Northern Berry to be with a realy nice head buzz.A male that I desired in squatness, and he had this awesome fruity smell in veg.I have 2 more girls that I am keeping an eye on for judgement. If Big Blue was in the mix pack I may never have my #1 girl and desired male.On a side note HGS does not carry TGA Space Queen/Jill.I tried Single Seed Center and now have a S/Q seedling. If I get the desired female with desired pheno profile then great. If a male then I still have a Boo Berry girl lookin for a RomxCin99 stud.
I am just saying to anybody reading this.Pick a strain and do the research. If the reports sway you for your style then choose another and research.

p.s. the flowering clone I culled was just a hairball with very little tric's @ 8 wks.Not going to spend the time.
I am going to look at my girls. :->

Here are my 2 BB keepers at 8.5 wks 12/12 rooted clone. They look better in person, but next round they will be even better. They are between 10-11.5" tall and they smell a wonderfull aroma that is easly managed.

Left is Lemony Stretch girl.Sativa dom with a realy potent head buzz and lemon zest taste.

Right is Boo Berry girl.Indica dom with a really nice head buzz combined with a subtle relaxed body. The taste is worth a 100x's the price of admission.:weed::hug:
