Easiest, fastest way to determine sex?

I'm still quite a noob (hence posting in this section) and have only grown fem seeds to this point. However, I've got two reg seedlings going on 10 days above soil and I'm looking ahead to the day they show sex.

I typically grow my seedlings in a party cup then transplant them to their final home (3-5 gal fabric pot) when they show signs of outgrowing the cup. Typically this is at 12-20 days. I then veg for at least 30 days, and have gone as long as 50 days before I flip my plants to 12/12. However, I don't really like the idea of vegging a male plant for that long AND wasting prime grow space and soil on a 3-5 gal pot.

I was considering more transplants with these, going from party cup to 1 gal or so, then 3-5 gal for final if female. But 1 gal won't allow for a good veg cycle.

I've looked at cloning then flipping the clones to 12/12 but I know it takes at least 7-12 days for the clones to even root, not sure how much more time it will take for the clone to show sex.

So for those of you who grow regular seeds, what is you method of quickly determining sex? I only want this because I have limited space to work with.

Thanks!

i dont think you can do much to make them show it faster. the fastest way would be to just put them on 12/12 and wait. they also show in veg once the plant is mature.

Yeah, I have seen pre-flowers around 35 days on my fem plants. I'm just looking for a method that does not make me flip them to 12/12 much sooner than I would my fems. But I also don't want to veg males for a couple of months when the space could be used by a plant I know will give me smoke.

I don't have a method of quickly determining sex, unfortunately. It sounds like you know all your options.

I just wait till I see preflowers, usually have some time to veg after that yet anyways.

BTW, if you take clones and put them on 12/12, you don't need to wait for them to root.

once you have 4 sets of nodes, go to the bottom of your plant and clip off the two bottom 3 leaf nodes and place them in a cup of tap water with just a touch of sugar
place cup in flower room on floor in cool ass shadows of your real plants
take 2 - 3 cuts per plant
clearly mark each cup
watch the cups/sex your plants

Thanks for the advice about clones, I was unsure about it as my only experience with cloning was on vegging plants. The clones didn't show signs of anything at all until they rooted, then they grew like mofos. I just figured clones wouldn't show sex either without roots. Will try this.

The only way I know to find sex early is to flip them to 12/12 until they show sex then flip them back to veg lighting. But all this only delays the grow cycle. I think its best just to veg them as usual and wait for them to preflower.

Im in the same situation my current grow is just trial and error using bag seeds but I plan on buying feminized seeds in the near future, Im turning my lights to 12/12 so I can sex tham a little bit quicker but I also heard that doing this may stress them and give them a better chance of becoming a hermi.. let me know what you think

I'm turning 12/12 on monday, after 4 weeks of vegging, only 1 plant has "pre flowered", while they are 2+ feet tall and have well over 5 nodes...some have 9+ nodes and no pre-flower.
