I'm still quite a noob (hence posting in this section) and have only grown fem seeds to this point. However, I've got two reg seedlings going on 10 days above soil and I'm looking ahead to the day they show sex.
I typically grow my seedlings in a party cup then transplant them to their final home (3-5 gal fabric pot) when they show signs of outgrowing the cup. Typically this is at 12-20 days. I then veg for at least 30 days, and have gone as long as 50 days before I flip my plants to 12/12. However, I don't really like the idea of vegging a male plant for that long AND wasting prime grow space and soil on a 3-5 gal pot.
I was considering more transplants with these, going from party cup to 1 gal or so, then 3-5 gal for final if female. But 1 gal won't allow for a good veg cycle.
I've looked at cloning then flipping the clones to 12/12 but I know it takes at least 7-12 days for the clones to even root, not sure how much more time it will take for the clone to show sex.
So for those of you who grow regular seeds, what is you method of quickly determining sex? I only want this because I have limited space to work with.
Thanks!
