open project 64, start your game, click options, click configure controller plugin, if you have the right driver installed theres a little drop down menu bar that says "none", click it and it should have the controller listed on it. if theres nothing there then you dont have the right driver/plugin for that controller. once you get that make sure the contoller plugged in box is checked and you can set up your controls from there.
Yeah I got that far. The dropdown says PS3sixaxis or something like that. I click on that and try to change the controls to the buttons on my PS3 remote but it won't let me. I checked out a few of youtube videos to see what was up, turns out I need to download a couple of things first. Probably do that later today, gonna be sweet.

I do believe we nerds call those device "drivers" lol
lol ya. i just googled "how to make my xbox controller work with my computer" and found all i needed if i remember right. its harder but you can actually make wireless controllers work with it as well.

think xbox controller would be easier to use than a ps3 but if its all you got go for it

you have to buy an adapter for the wirless controlers. I spend 20$ for a wired one. But its worth it i can play any game for any system before "xbox360,ps3,wii" including DS handheld, og xbox & ps2

where did you save the file/ application that was downloaded? you may have to run it before the load option appears

Some times its good to go with the company that actually makes the 2 electronics you are trying to cross.

I plugged in the Xbox controller.....
Windows has detected a new device...
Searching for latest drivers....
divers installed " Xbox controller ready for use"...<< actually knows what it is

lol...

Yeah I already ran it.. Maybe I should try to reboot again and it will pop up.

The application doesn't open now.. lol.. I'm gonna start all this over again.

I love my NES, SNES, and Saturn emulators.
I went with the old school nintendo controller for the laptop though. Then i just run an HDMI to the TV
