I know Roots Excelurator is praised around these parts, but does anyone here currently use it and can provide an updated "review"?

I just bought some because my seedlings are growing roots slowly so I hope this can kick-start them!

it says to use roots excelurator with the shooting poweder. Does anyone do this? I'll do it, but the RE is so expensive, is it really necessary?
I don't think it's absolutely necessary but the results are pretty fucking amazing so you be the judge of what is "necessary." Everyone has a different opinion of what that is, but I can tell you that I have never heard anything but praise of RE. I use RE combined with compost TEA and the root growth has accelerated noticeably.

I use it and it is awesome! No bullshit, do a side by side comparison and see for yourself.

Awesome buds, I can't wait to see what happens when I add it in. Your pics just make me even more impatient
22 ounces from 4 plants.

Should you need more proof.....here you go:

First water with Roots Excelurator.

.1mL of RE for 250mL of water

That was a hard dosage since my syringe started at 1mL. LOL. Sheesh.

Thats great! I've got 3 plants and i'm thinking i'll be lucky to pull an ounce from them. But I do have 4 more weeks to go and they could surprise me. I think my biggest problem is lack of space though, my tent is only 2'7" x 2'7" x 5'3". However, If they produced just half what you yielded I would literally shit my pants in joy

I have a bunch of GH FloraNova I'd like to use, for comparisons sake, could I use the rest of the H&G line with only the base nutes changed? (I run RDWC)
I figure I would compare the yields keeping everything else constant. I have the sample pack of H&G (roots, top boost, bud xl, shooting powder and drip clean + flakes)

I figure it should be fine?

I don't know, try it out and see what happens but you should also go on H&G's website because they list some of their products that shouldn't be used with other products.

Well I also have 1000 watt light, UCDWC hydro system, and CO2 so it isn't all due to H&G but I attribute a great deal to their nutes, especially how clean my bud is.

I give H & G a lot of credit for having quality nutes as well. I'm a new grower, even though i've tried several times before, I had to stop the grow before harvest because my girlfriend at the time threatened to call the cops on me, another time I ended up in the hospital and the plants died, but this time i'm able to see it through. The other times I had problems with nute burn, salt buildup etc, calcium/magnesium problems, but now i've gone through the whole cycle up to this point with no issues at all. My light is a 330 watt LED, and I would say it definitely performs as well if not better than the 600w hps I had before it. I just think the plants need more room horizontally and vertically, as they are almost 4 ft tall and 1.5 ft wide. I'm going to get a 4 x 4 tent for the next round

Shooting powder was added this morning. I decided not to lower the base nutes and follow the chart after looking at the difference between aqua flakes and soil, theres a big difference on how they recommend you use it. So my EC was about 1.7 when I added the shooting powder, and about 2.3 afterwards, or roughly 1750 ppm. Thats about what my nutes were at pre shooting powder, so things should be ok. I'm just excited to see if shooting powder can help me get a better yield. I read on another forum its like having a never ending flower cycle.

from the H&G website:
Contrary to what you might have heard with other nutrients, never use an oxygen pump in the nutrient container or in the growth table. This may have serious consequences for the stability of the nutrients

Any DWC growers NOT use an oxygen pump? lol
I always kept air stones in my reservoir even with nutrients, never had any problems. Is oxygen bad for the nutes?? lol

I read the ENTIRE thread, and for the first 30 pages it seems H&G were really recommending not to use air pumps. That was before they realised a lot of their market uses DWC. Consensus seems to be that the extra air doesn't hurt anything

They prefer you add the extra oxygen by means of a circulating pump instead of an airstone. A circulating pump works well for most growing systems, but not dwc I guess

Yeah DWC needs air stones.. I have ran House and Garden nutes with just air lines/ no stones and it sucks. You have to use little aquarium suction cups things to hold down your air lines and even with a weak air pump those suction cups never end up actually staying put and you have air lines bouncing all around in the water not to mention making a loud bubble sound. Take it from me you can use air stones in your reservoir I always do and have been for a couple of years with House and Garden Cocos and the rest of their additives. Plants seem to love it plus it helps keep my res cool the air pump sucks my cool air and sends it to the air stones in the res.

I probably should be using an airstone even in my small 5gal res, although i am growing in soilless mix the extra dissolved oxygen would be good. I think I actually have an air pump from when I grew ebb and flow one time
