I'm just going to ride it out here in TX until the laws that are going to be passed in the states that have let the people actually have a say start a domino effect.
By the time it gets here, hopefully I'll have landed some good land races to start some real work on.
Id love to make this my career, growing my plants and tending my gardens.. Helping other too, that's what it's about, ya know?!

Nah man, I've had great successes with the 12/12 from seed method.
Some have even gotten the holy grail of 1g/watt.
Sexing in as little as 20 days avg.

The stresses from a shortened light cycle are so minimal as to be negligible or nonexistent.
Mid wager to say that LST brings more of a stress.

Plants grown under this lighting schedule have no basis of comparison to another light cycle.
Therefore, it's all it's ever known, and all plants adapt to their particular circumstances.

Some say that it decreases yields. I can see where they would say that.
You DO get less bid from a plant grown this way. (larger plants, larger yeilds)
BUT, the bud to plant RATIO goes significantly higher in a 12/12 FS. (less stem, trim, etc.)

But as I always say, it takes all kinds in our world..
We do what we do. And that's good enough for me ;)
Hello TO,
I am still sandbagging your thread since we discussed our hot peppers a while back. I thought I would chime in on you above post. You are so right about the bud to plant ratio ! And there is a lot less stems, leaves, trimming involved.

I just finished a SOG with several plants and my opinion is that some strains are just not gonna preform well at all while others will grow a nice bud on a stick. All of my Dinafems did poorly compared to the others. They were just short little buds as well as my Big Bangs from GHS. You don't know until you try though. As a whole I did not do bad doing a 12/12 SOG. I am still waiting on the final numbers for the whole shebang.:peace:

Hey gyroscope. How's things? I really don't remember our last discussion(stoner) did I piss you off somehow? Lol, it's not unheard of...

Yeah some strains /crosses do well, others not so much. But hey- it's all in the trying, right?! We don't know something doesn't work until we fail. And we can't say it does until we've proved it ;)
most of these should be ok, *crosses talons*.

I am still going to start a few more for a late start quick finish outdoors also.

Haha! I just checked the beans I finally started last night(been meaning to all damn week),
and the DOG x Bubba Master's are all open seeds with tails coming out!
One also of the caliband and the Special Edward. I started them while doing last nights post(no shit).
So hopefully all will be going to soil in the morning!

No you did not piss me off. Whatever gave you that idea ? LOL

We were talking in the seed sharers group that got deleted twice. Remember now ? I knew I had seen you before that, then it hit me that it was in DizzleFrost's thread. I made a few posts here. I think the last time was wishing you guys a happy 4th of July.

I think the majority of MJ will do OK with 12/12. Even those that don't will give you a small bud for your trouble. Good luck with the late ones !!

I feel you on that...I feel at my best gardening and growing something that can help people. I would love to do it as a career...legally of course. It's scary to me that I have to look over my shoulder for growing medicine that helps me cope with issues that would cripple me otherwise!

Yeah. Or prevents you from being able to look over your shoulder..

Gyro, you said you were sandbagging my thread. Guess that's another one of those terms we have different meanings for in different areas of the country.
I remember the discussion on the now defunct seedsavers thread.
Kinda glad it's gone. More of a hassle than it was worth.

Same ole same ole..

Gonna put my beans to soil in a bit(gotta run BACK to town, sigh, so much for not leaving the house on my day off)
Maybe snap a few pics of the girls before sundown today;) Maybe you could help out again sensei? I know I'm a bother..

Did you change your thread glockdoc? I haven't seen a new post on it in a minute..

Hope all is well with all! :)

Hey owl what's going on.

Just a heads up, those dog x bubbamaster seeds are most likely straight up dog like T got a few months ago. There was a project going on at the time with some bubbamaster pollen, I just listed it that way in case they were not straight up dogs we would know what they were. I usually get a few seeds or so from each dog plant, just wanted to make sure that I let you know : !)

So all the seeds for the sog are in their pots, labeled, moistened, and already a DOG is showing its little face! (highlander, tryna, if it is straight DOG as opposed to a DOG x Bubba Master, are you guys gonna be able to tell by looks?)

All of the beans had tails save for one caliband, but it was splitting this morning as I planted them out/potted them up. So, I'm calling it 18/18 germed. Three each of six different varieties. Not bad in my opinion.

Now, if they could all end up femme, then I'd be a happy camper.

Welcome to the fun house Gyroscope, Kronika..

Now that there is more of an audience, maybe it'll make me be more on the ball, and my updates will be better and more frequent.

The Apollo's tried to dry out on me again yesterday.. In this dry heat they do best left in a tub with a few inches of water in the bottom. Mainly because the airpots have so much surface area, and that super soil is like a friggen wick.

The blueberry in the pot is exploding with bud growth now. It is packing the calyxes, and getting frostier:)
the one in the ground(lst'd) has a weird branch, and I couldn't figure it out. Then I saw my *^+%}#}]+==~€¥<!! Dogs peeing on the branch. Aaaarrrrghghgh! Why must they always pee on my plants?!? They know it's bad/not good for their day for them to do that. And yet...

Going to figure this out, and keep her safe from the sting.

Gonna go snap a few pics, who wants to be my uploader this eve?

Hah, sorry, I ate some cookies last night and they got a good foot hold on me :)

Thanks Kronika, I'll get some daytime pics this morn.

Hope to see more sprout babies showing.

Only one baby popped the surface so far.

Im ok with that, as long as they keep showing face. I planted them directly into the one gallon pots, so that should avoid seedling transplant stress.
And I'm a firm believer that the first burst of root growth is one of the most important times in a young plants' life.
Initial root growth is important because they will be supplying the basis of foundation for our girls. Root growth occurs before top growth, and the top growth is in direct correlation with how healthy/large. The root system is.

And being they wil start in the same pots they will finish in, they should do better than a series of up potting.

(other side of the coin)

Not to say that step up up potting is a bad thing. This method, we start in a seed tray/yogurt cup/solo.. What have you...
then as the roots become semi bound, they become denser.(side shoot roots) and we keep stepping up in pot size until pot size reached or plant size says" you need to flower me now"(we all have different needs and situations)
Then you'd have more root mass, which when uppotted becomes more building material for top growth.

I think the step up method works very well. For those that are going to veg longer than I am.

Just saying..
