Oh I think the right gets it and I also think the average voter is starting to get it!Why doesn't the right get it? Why do they never get it? The right is forever on their hunt for hypocrits but they limit their scans to things done by the left. No one cares, except for folk who operate on jealousy, what Ms. Romney wears or how much her husband makes, or how they spend their wealth.
What we all care about is their pretending to know the trials and difficulties of the common man in America. Romney can roll up his shirtsleeves and wear jeans all he wants to but every time he professes to undersand our current plight while talking about his wife's "couple of cadillacs", or his friends who "own nascar teams", or deducts more for his horse then most people make in a year, he shows himself as singularly unable to comprehend what we are having to contend with in this country. The man has never ever struggled in his life, he has never actually risked his lifestyle in order to form a company, he has never gambled it all and neither has his wife.
Why do you folk still believe any of this has anything to do with how much this guy is worth or where his wife purchases her shirts?
Thanks, inktheworld.Amen and +rep from another moderate.

So, why are the Republicans self destructing again? What is it about them that they can't seem to mount a reasonable candidate? Bush the elder is the last one I can recall that had some humanity surrounding him. Sure there were more of those pesky "can't relate to us" problems but what is going on with them? I am quietly certain that his son (how troubling that we have to differenciate the two with letters) was placed in the presidency either by SCOTUS mandate or by vote manipulations.Absolutely, my little list is just a basic recipe for the cake. I could have mentioned he possibly commuted voter fraud when he used his sons unfinished basement as his address and many other acts of his political bafoonery.
His tax returns are the icing on that cake
When Obama was running for office in 08 his wife was caught having 700-800 dollar lunch. The stuff the media digs up makes me laugh. Should they all be shopping at Target and eating at Wendys? They are loaded, that is a good thing.wayyyyyyyyy old news buddy.
ann romney's thousand dollar shirt that she never punched a clock a day in her life to earn is so one month ago.
The ultimate fear of commitment. It is said that centrists have never had anything truely good or truely bad happen to them. My being an extreme leftist has me suspicious of you because centrists either don't really care or they are honestly open to all ideas. If you don't care, then what point is there in talking to you. If you are open to all ideas then why have you not embraced my way of thinking as it is the only one that actually reflects reality.I always grin when I am called a "you lefties". As a centrist, I am despised by both extremes. cn
Oh I think the right gets it and I also think the average voter is starting to get it!
And it has nothing at all to do with "struggling" and we all know it.
John McCain grew up in a military family, but the left didn't focus on the financial struggles of military families, they found something else to go after so they attacked his military service and his age.
Rick Santorum wasn't born with a silver spoon in his mouth, yet there was no praise for his middle class upbringing, just personal attacks on his religious beliefs.
It's nothing but a double standard for the liberals, it is perfectly fine for Michelle Obama to spend $7,000 on a jacket that looks like a tablecloth, but it's taboo if Ann Romney wear a $1,000 bird shirt.
It's perfectly acceptable for the First Lady to spend over $10million of tax payers money going on extravagant vacations, but owning two Cadillacs is "out of touch" with the American people!
I guess the same double standard could be said of Barack, he has no problem bragging about his early days of snorting coke and smoking weed, in fact he thought it was "cool" but if someone else is caught doing the same exact thing, his hypocritical ass is sending them to prison.
So, I think you're wrong, we certainly do get it!
so... because you are a centrist, does that mean that you are an undecided voter? Thanks, inktheworld.
However, on a cheerier note - I think that there are more centrists than would appear. We're not mediagenic and generally don't get reported on. Centrism has an inglorious but secure future, lol. cn
It gets even worse, canndo. I am a Radical Centrist, advocating an overwhelming excess of moderation. I have memberships at Drizzlefront and What Progress. It's dizzyingly motionless here at the Extreme Center. cnThe ultimate fear of commitment. It is said that centrists have never had anything truely good or truely bad happen to them. I don't imagine that the right views you in that same light do they?
One thing for sure though, I won't label you as a rightist simply because you may share some of the viewpoints of that side or disagree with me.
I don't remember McCains military service being attacked at all. I do remember Kerry being "swiftboated" though.
Santorums religious beliefs are completely fair game. He brought his beliefs into play by making them the cornerstone of his policy. Santorum was attacked in a REPUBLICAN primary which he lost. I wasn't aware that you consider his opponents in that primary to be Leftists
Our last POTUS snorted blow, smoked pot and was arrested for an OUI in Kennebunk. Were you screaming the same bullshit a few years ago about him?
You're upset, and I understand. The GOP had a slam dunk in this upcoming election and you're blowing it. Again I'll say it:
Anne Coulter was right
Watch the lead Obama build up over the tax issue. The story of Mitt not paying taxes for 10 years can only be refuted by releasing the returns. If there isn't something to hide he'd release them and rid himself of the issue that's slowly killing his campaign. His inaction on that front can only lead people to believe the storyline. If he doesn't fix this it will be his fatal wound.
Snatching defeat from the jaws of victory sure is entertaining to watch though isn't it?
In theory yes, but Romney makes me itch. i'm voting my immune system. cnso... because you are a centrist, does that mean that you are an undecided voter?
That's call selective memory!I don't remember McCains military service being attacked at all. I do remember Kerry being "swiftboated" though.
I don't consider his republican opponents leftists, I'm talking about the MSM and the far left who relentlessly attacked his faith.Santorums religious beliefs are completely fair game. He brought his beliefs into play by making them the cornerstone of his policy. Santorum was attacked in a REPUBLICAN primary which he lost. I wasn't aware that you consider his opponents in that primary to be Leftists
Are you throwing shit up against the wall to see if it sticks, or do you have anything to backup the claim of George Bush smoking pot and snorting coke? And a drunk driving arrest when Bush was 30 is a lot different than Obama's hypocritical war on the very drugs he bragged about doing himself. Our last POTUS snorted blow, smoked pot and was arrested for an OUI in Kennebunk. Were you screaming the same bullshit a few years ago about him?
1.5% GDP growth, 8.2% unemployment, 15million more Americans on food stamps, $5trillion of new debt in less than four years, his idiotic attack on free enterprise and an incumbent president well under 50% in the polls! How the hell could I be upset? LOLYou're upset, and I understand. The GOP had a slam dunk in this upcoming election and you're blowing it. Again I'll say it:

What have we then Canna? You are a moderate who will be voting for a socialist? Hardly a moderate action. You had some value when you were an undecided and the moderates I am aware of take pride in their ambivalence. What about Romney has given you that itch?In theory yes, but Romney makes me itch. i'm voting my immune system. cn
Party talking points - nothing but. So I am to be excused when I offer some of those talking points as well. That's call selective memory!

A $1000 shirt is a talking point, a car elevator is a talking point, lies about a $77k deduction on a dressage horse is a talking point, even Michelle Obama's $7,000 tablecloth jacket is a talking point.Party talking points - nothing but. So I am to be excused when I offer some of those talking points as well.
GDP may well have been much lower if we were to have assigned Mccain the task of correcting an economy that faltered because of the same practices that he (and Romney) touted - more of the same failed policies does not tend to correct anything at all.
When unemployment is high, people need to use food stamps - something that you folks don't believe in much anyway. New debt is the cost of attempting to correct previous errors combined with the ongoing expenditures the previous administration prompted.
It is interesting that you site his unpopularity as a reason for us to elect a different unpopular man but I am curious about what you say his "attacks on free enterprise" consist of.
The reality is that your candidate supports a return to the same failed policies that got us here.A $1000 shirt is a talking point, a car elevator is a talking point, lies about a $77k deduction on a dressage horse is a talking point, even Michelle Obama's $7,000 tablecloth jacket is a talking point.
But a 1.5% in gdp growth and 8.2% unemployment is point everyone will be talking about in November and it's a disastrous reality!
No, the expensive shirts are not talking points except for the right, the right is the one making an issue not of the disparity but of the fact that the left is pointing out that disparity.A $1000 shirt is a talking point, a car elevator is a talking point, lies about a $77k deduction on a dressage horse is a talking point, even Michelle Obama's $7,000 tablecloth jacket is a talking point.
But a 1.5% in gdp growth and 8.2% unemployment is point everyone will be talking about in November and it's a disastrous reality!
I try hard to remember that for a select few, things have gone quite nicely as a result of Bush's policies. It appears that Romney is running with that select few in mind. The reality is that your candidate supports a return to the same failed policies that got us here.
Seriously, you really think that the candidate that is mimicking the Bush tax, finance and foreign policy is the answer? Things are bad but getting better, why drag us backwards?
