For starters.... The petals wrap almost all the way around the rose, it could use some separation between the petals, it is lop sided and the coloring is bland and dull. It looks like it is already 15 years old!

Why do the petals pointed out wrap more than half way around the rose? I don't need to be a tattoo artist to know good tattoos. You've seen my sleeve and other work by my friend. I know tattoo art and that is amatuer work! You even admitted you weren't on his level. You may do it for work but you are not a pro! Arena football players might play arena football for a living but they are far from pro!

You have no clue what you are talking about. And that is not amateur work dude, you are trippin. If you were a tattoo artist with maybe 20 somethin years experience and a great reputation, maybe I would take what you have to say into consideration. But your not, your a nobody. Your like the guy that stands over the mechanics shoulder and directs him. Whether or not you like it, the customer did, and has spent over $1500 with me so far, and is spending another $300 on wednesday. Im gettin my money while you talk shit on the internet.

I don't think it takes a tattoo artist to accurately gauge a tattoo artist's work.

If it's shitty art, it's shitty art.

A "good" tattoo is mostly graded on the technical ability. He hasnt even acknowledged that.

Well, as I'm a tattoo virgin and don't know any tattoo artists personally, I'll have to take you on your word.

However, I'd have to imagine it takes more than technical prowess to be a truly great tattoo artist.

Well of course. I explained this in the other thread. You have to have natural artistic talent, but then you have to have the technical ability to transfer that art onto skin.
