how do you all dry/cure your harvest?

3. Hang branches and let them dry until crispy, about a week.
4. Cut buds from branches and paper bag them.
5. Cycle paper bag open/closed to obtain optimum moisture level in buds.
6. Final storage in plastic ziplock freezer bags. (jars are technically better in several ways but I prefer the convenience and malleability of freezer bags)

i have found that the freezer bags leak a bit and will over dry your buds in time...

I'm not going to have room to hang in the house this year. I have a couple of possibilities. A tool shed or a barn stall.

The tool shed is pretty dark, just has one window with indirect light. There is electricity so I can run a small fan if need be.

The barns are airy with indirect light. I have electricity in the barns so could run a fan but should get a slight breeze so probably won't need one.

Has anyone hung in an outbuilding? Any thoughts on one being better than the other?

i have found that the freezer bags leak a bit and will over dry your buds in time...

Indeed, plastic is gas permeable but I don't plan on keeping it around long enough to become a concern.

imo,once the plant is cut thc production stops...at least that what i was lead to believe....

Hope so - I never dried in an outbuilding.

It takes the plant a few days to die and during that time the developmental process actually speeds up somewhat. I have cut bull thistle with big buds and they will flower and spew their seeds within a few days of being cut so ideally you should burn them right away.

its easier to trim when it's wet....leaves stick straight out....but weezer said it bruises the bud and makes them look darker (i have this problem)
i think it's just bag appeal...
if its your first google a perfect cure every time...great for the first timer....i would post a link ....but it's another board and i don't want to piss off the higher ups....

You're not in California, are you? I try to respect them by walking away before I light up but if they happen to be at a light rail station and its already lit, wtf is a brotha sposed to do? Friends and I have been caught passing blunts in club parking lots. All they tell us is to walk away from the club and come back when we're done. Not a whole lot of assholes in Sacramento. I'm telling you....water cured bud is almost odorless. The chlorophyl comes out the water. The smell of tobacco is very strong. It completely over powers any slight smells from the water cured bud in spliffs.

I am in CA.. however a portion of CA (very AGG and VERY conservative.. which I normally can deal with. )
I have a great deal of respect for law enforcement.. very underpaid and overworked.. sure there are asses in all the depts in any job..
I worked with several officers over the last 15 years or so and had my best friend graduate P.O.S.T

the way I see the law is.. smoke it and dont flaunt it... just like if you went to walgreens and picked up your RX.. you would not be flaunting that.
I can take a joint and walk around with it with no fear.. I am not hitting the j like a kid and smoke it pretty much the way I would cigs and no one is the wiser.

I will for sure try the water method this year and see how it is..

I've been using the paper bag method since I destroyed a jumbo cola through carelessness a few years back. I am also going to try Simon's perfect cure and got one of those hygrometers on ebay the other day (BIN $16 shipped). I certainly can't afford one for every jar but I can use it for one and treat the others the same or move it around as needed. I might get another if it seems useful.

i did the same thing last year...but i had 3 hygrometers ...it was a lot of work...too many jars....

According to BJ, there is less taste and smell with the water cure. This is appealing to me and I am going to cure at least a few zips this way. My home office is in the enclosed porch on my house. I hate when somebody comes to the front door and I have to spray a ton of air freshener. And then of course, there's hubby the bloodhound, ever critical of my excessive (in his mind) smoking behavior, lol. I swear sometimes I feel like an errant teenager ...

Like Laney reiterated, it actually takes away taste and smell but it is SUPER smooth. How do you usually cure? Sorry if you already posted that. I'm just hoping maybe we can help you get the most out of your plant. Drying and burping in glass jars, to me, has given me the most delicious of all drying and curing methods I've had.
