but cheezy, if he isnt a felon, why doesnt he show his id, and comply with their "request" after all it's traditional that you must show ID when a cop decides to get all stupid. if he doesnt have anything to hide he should just do as these needledicks command!
and they said he cant carry a gun, and they said its the law, so that settles it right?
needle dick doesnt know the difference between bearing and "presenting" a firearm. cops all think they are experts in mmatters of law, how mmany of us have heard this one fromm a dinkbag cop "you cant have a knife that is longer than the palm of your/my hand" thats not a law anywhere in the universe.

Openly carrying a gun is not illegal is the vast majority of the United States assuming its properly holstered and depending on many other laws (but broadly speaking there aren't a lot of circumstances where its illegal)
And it shouldn't be....Criminals don't walk from a crime with a registered weapon properly holstered in plain view...
Also in most of the United States you aren't required to identify yourself..especially if you are on foot unless you are being investigated for a crime. (some states only required if your driving)

Cops are often shot with their own weapon, your at a severe disadvantage from open carrying as far as self defense, you would be targeted first, not only that but your asking for trouble. I don't buy the whole argument that it detours criminals or something, you might as well not be carrying a gun if its in plain view imo.
In my state you are allowed to have it loaded and open carry (or ccw w/ license), even one in the chamber locked & cocked. (Michigan)
but you can't open carry and drive, you have to lock it in the trunk.

And agreed as to open vs. concealed carry. i would much rather retain the element of surprise. But, to each his own.
Locked in the trunk don't do any good lol. Rather be tried by 12 than carried by 6.

Odds are that should such a thing go to a conservative SCOTUS, it will be found constitutional. Conservative justices have found that nothing should hinder the police in the persuance of their "duty".

the second amendment was talking about america's standing army having guns, not the populace!
