That is very true, most people do not buy their LEDs by the 10'000pcs+. I keep forgetting.
If I were in the shoes of the everyday LED buyer, I would not be looking at any Epi-anything,
star included. Unless it came from some place that can prove they are the top bin being used. I am still a firm believer that any company that sells LED grow lights, and states the LEDs are Epistar and/or Bridgelux, they are full of shit. Nether Epistar or Bridgelux looks like the LEDs used in any grow lights, nor do they provide the colors claimed to be used. Epistar and Bridgelux is kinda lame anyways....
Surprisingly, the XML's do not run too much hotter than the XPG's. The heat sink is one solid piece of aluminum with fins. The cooling setup is more than adequate for a 400w system. Cooler running LEDs = not only more output per electricity, but they last longer too.
