weed choosing dillema for my first grow

more of a general discussions topic imo since this is more of preference and stoner talk rather than scientific grounds. my order sheet from female seeds on attitudes is as follows: 4 of each. ICED Grapefruit, BubbleGummer, Pure AK-47 and White Widowx Big Bud. now this is the thing, i JUST heard about the bomb seeds company and they got some fire lookin herb too. i was thinking of dropping the bubblegum and ak for the female seeds skunk special and the grapefruit. BUT the bomb seeds got some shit called bomb cheese that look beastly and its 5 for $25 which aint too bad. i'd probably have to cop 3 orders though. instead of 4 to keep within my $100 price range. dudes got some shit called THC bomb but that's 30 ducks. i'm keeping the iced grapefruit for sure and MAYBE the white widow x big bud but the other two i'm still on the fence about. what are you guys cheap strains that ya like for its smokeability. i'm trying to get herb that i can serve to my peeps but also bud i can get knocked out high off of.

yeah barney farm got a couple of good cheeses but they expensive though like 30 euros for a 5 pack as opposed to 18 for 4 which i'm going for price too. but GODDAMN these buds look beautiful

For a first grow I recommend bagseed, schwag, or regs.

Whatever you kids are calling it these days.

Even for a second grow, if you did not learn well the first time around.

Good genetics are a terrible thing to waste.

gtfoh. i'm not gonna spend 4 months to be getting a headache everytime i smoke. HOWEVER, i've been doing plentiful research to appease the fact that this is my first grow. i DO understand that the theory and application of botany are very different but i do also understand, that knowledge and learning is the key to anything. i'm the type of person that by reading learned to fix my own mechanical problems(replacing belts, alternators, starters, ignition system etc) basic yes but something that the average joe without the needed knowledge would never be able to do. i'm nowhere NEAR a mechanic but i am sensible enough to solve my own problems. i may not be able to apply this method to botany but i'll be damned if i don't try to grow some super bombastic funk

I see your point. I also think that there is much more black and white in mechanical repair, and notsomuch with marijuana horticulture. And bagseed looks and smokes very differently when grown at home than it does when you bought it. Regs looks the way they do because bales get left sitting to mold for months, swim in oceans, get slept on by stinky mexican drug mules who walk it over the border, get buried...you name it, plenty of bad shit happens to commercial weed on it's journey from stalk to lungs. Trust me on that. =)
If you tossed in a few bag seeds while waiting for your medical strains to arrive you'll be a little ahead of the game when they get there. Good luck.

Meh, my first grow ever 6 years ago I ran a paradise Opium plant and it turned out great....the biggest beginner mistake is overwatering and overfertilizing...so i mean if you already know this going into a first time grow, just use common sense and pick up the pot to make sure you aren't overwatering it. And fertilizer is not a hard subject if you just READ the damn instructions on the back instead of trying to fertilize every single watering like a fool. Good luck!

Man...actually bag seed isn't nearly as bad as the reggie bag you get it from....just because it's shitty brick mexican weed does't mean the seeds won't be good. I've grown regg seeds and had some pretty good results; not medical weed, but still gets you baked and no headache like the brick weed you got the seeds from. Mexican dirt weed is just shit because of how it's harvested, transported and stored...in most cases it was decent weed to start out with; just by the time it gets to you, its gone through so many hands (and probably got harvested years ago).

Damn good smoke can be grown from bagseed. Because I did it in my learning process.

Learning to grow with bagseed teaches solid technique. Again, I did it in my learning process.

Then I moved on to the good stuff.

so did you want input from people who know better or didn't you? if you are blindly knocking bagseed it begs the question of how much research you have actually done and whether you understand what makes "top quality buds". the best genetics in the world are only going to produce herb as good as the grower's skill allows. good luck and all, but asking a question on an open forum and complaining about legit responses is not a recipe for progress.

My primary complaint with bagseed is that i haven't seen a one up here. When I grew for the first time in a long time a year ago, i had no bagseed on which to experiment. I "split the difference" and bought a pair of Nirvana strains.

I add my voice to those who say bagseed can grow damn fine smoke. cn

you have the right idea learn your self go get jorge cervantes indoor/outdoor medical grow bible $20 well worth it. dont listen to most of the people on the forums there retarded or just like talking shit for fun, a few people might know what there talking about but not many. starting with a good strain def makes a diff but i would not recommend getting cheap ass seeds if your trying to get good ones get a og raskal strain or some DNA genetics both top quality but a little more pricey for a reason. just b e prepared to fuck up a couple times before you get it down good there is always something else you can upgrade in your room and learn about growing just keep trying and be ready to invest some $$$ and alot of time if you want quality buds. and get good seeds if you plan on doing it right the first time and dropping serious dough for a set up, if your gonna use cfls and grow in your closet it doesnt really matter what seeds you get

i'm doing hps and my main concern is the ventillation. the point of this thread though was just to get opinions on good cheap seeds that are good and just to generally talk about exotic weed since this is a fucking.....gee i dont know.....STONER FORUM. but i was looking into the grow bible and i'm going to cop that once i start the grow and do a learn as you go type thing. its nothing to drop 100 ducks on 20 seeds since i'm doing 4 at a time.....that gives me 5 tries to fuck up. which i plan on at least getting a gram a plant to smoke but shit. i know i'm a rookie, just don't throw it in my face and be on some shit where you think everybody is a moron and won't use common sense when doing something that requires brain power

for your first grow, i would just go with bagseed to get a feel for it. that way you dont spend money on high quality seeds without the knowledge to take care of them and grow them properly. every strain is different and every seed of each strain is different. you have to know what to do, when to do it, and how much or how little to do it in order to maximize yields. now i am not a professional grower but i do at least know that much lol. best of luck to you, happy growing, and as always, stay smokey
